My mother and I stayed at Hosteria Katy for four nights and it was possibly the most accommodating stay I have ever experienced. To begin with, the service was incredible. The owners, Adriana and Derek (sp?) were happy to answer any questions and provide any help with arranging tours in the area. They were so helpful that they even allowed us to arrange bank deposit payment when we returned to buenos aires because we were short cash (they only accept cash). Breakfast was incredible as well! They serve homemade jams of six different varieties with both white or wheat bread, jamón y queso, muesli and milk, along with sweet cakes, OJ, café, and we were lucky enough to enjoy fresh picked plums from their garden. The location is a bit of a hike from Bariloche, which was fine by me as we didn't go to there necessarily for Bariloche, but for the surroundings. It is close to Puerto Pañuelo where you can take a ferry along Lago Nahuel Huapi to the bosque arrayenes and isla Victoria. If you are looking for a tranquil and comfortable stay near Bariloche, I highly recommend hosteria katy!!More
