the hotel is very nice. we ran into it while looking for a place to stay in the city. the location is a little far of the center (5 min walk) but its not really felt.
the lobby is very decorated, and the staff are very nice and helpful.
the rooms are OK, clean and cozy. breakfast is nice as well.
free internet on the lobby
if you want to be next to the city center, yet not with the crowd - go there!

We just stayed at Carlos V and only have good things to stay about the hotel and staff. We arrived in Bariloche planning to ski, but when less-than ideal ski weather hit, we were left not knowing what to do. Lucky for us, Oliver, the hotel concierge/front desk attendant practically planned our whole trip for us- sans organized tours which we weren't interested in.

About the hotel: the lobby was welcoming and warm and the breakfast was good by Argentinean standards. The rooms were basic, but clean which, as far as I'm concerned, is most important.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice place to stay in the heart of downtown- for a good price.

If you want a nice, 3-star in town, near to all the bars and restaurants, the Carlos V has got to be one of the best options for the money. The rooms don't have a view but the room rates are commensurately less and you get good value for what you pay. The hotel feels new and the rooms are modern if a little basic (as is the breakfast). Staff was helpful. Only downsides is you can hear some street traffic even though the windows are double pane. And the (fake) hardwood flooring means you may hear the person above you walking or dragging a chair. I didn't find it bothersome though. Internet only really works to first floor.

Everything went ok at this hotel (except maybe the breakfast that was REALLY "industrial"). Besides that point, the room was clean (no air conditionning but you don't need it in Bariloche) and the guy at the reception very helpful. There's a little "old fashioned" atmosphere from the 70's at the hotel that was... interesting!

After leaving Hotel 7 de Febrero we drove around to check out other moderately priced hotels in Bariloche and we were delighted to find that the Carlos V had all the services of a higher priced hotel but not the prices. It is older and less modern but it works- the rooms are clean, the bathrooms have good hot water, the breakfast is good, the staff is helpful, there is good internet access and wifi, and the location is top notch. If you are looking for value in town, I can highly recommend Carlos V. If you are looking for the Bariloche beauty and lake experience, go out on the Llao Llao road to a different place.

This budget hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very basic (could have used a make-over), but clean. Breakfast was sufficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Internet is available, but given the size of the hotel, it wasn't always easy to get onto the one computer available in the lobby.

The location was exceptional. Very close to Civic Square and the main drag (2 blocks away). Recommend trying the Antares Brewery around the corner: Good food and atmosphere, great beer.

Bottom line: Carlos V is good value for your money.
