The hotel is run by a guy who looks like he's younger than 30 and runs it though it were a frat house. The hotel agreed to watch our luggage while we went on an overnight trek and when we returned our iPods were stolen. The "teenage" manager did nothing about it and although he gave me the email address of the CEO of the company and his own, neither responded to an email I sent explaining how the hotel was liable for the theft. The place is at best mediocre. The lobby looks like some redone mess hall from summer camp and it's dirty. The only good thing about it is the massage therapist who did a wonderful job. Don't waste your time or money - this place is way overrated!

I stayed at the Design Suites for 5 nights and had a really fabulous time. The room was very spaceous, modern and clean, with a grat view over the lake and to the mountains. It is ideal for a romantic trip :-)) All te staff was very friendly, attentive and multi-lingual. The indoor/outdoor pool was kept very clean but could have been a little warmer. Design Suites is a few kilometers outside the 'center' of San carlos de Bariloche but easily accessed by the shuttle, taxi or the bus. Just as an experience I would recommend the collectivo at least once :-). The restaurant in the Design suites serves great snacks at a reasonable price and has a nice menue with daily specials. I ate twice at the hotel (very unusual for me) but was almost alone in the restaurant. Overall I can only recommend the Design suites in San Carlos de Bariloche. Thanks Team - I had a great time.

The service is really bad, they're very unfriendly.
On the first day, some money disappeared from my room while I was having breakfast. The manager told me that that was impossible and that they didn't have a solution for this. They said I shouldn't have left valuable things in my room.

We booked 2 weeks via Expedia.

Arriving at the hotel after a short drive from the airport, we were promptly and pleasantly checked-in and escorted to our room. We didn't have any baggage as that was lost at Buenos Aires Airport (long story).

First impressions were good, the hotel was landscaped stylishly, and the buildings are a comtemporary mix of stone, wood, and glass.

Our room was a full of wooden fittings which pleased me. In the corner was a large circular jacuzzi. The room had plenty of mixed lighting. The feature wall was nearly all glass which looked out onto the lake, and surrounding mountains - awesome! The bathroom consisted of a walk-in shower, toilet and bidet. All functional and modern. The sink was seperate from the bathroom, and in a dressing area, fitted with a wardrobe, drawers and safe.

The jacuzzi was large enough for two to comfortably chill in the hot water and bubbles, all whilst looking out on the lake. This was great, and exactly as I asked for. Only minor problem is that you could here the other jacuzzis running in other rooms - not that annoying really.

TV was not of the LCD type, but again work perfectly well. Most stations were in Spanish as expected, but we found 5/6 American channels to watch on nights in.

Breakfast in the reception building was enjoyable, with again a superb view of the lake, and often beautiful morning sun. Breakfast was made up of juices, fruit, cereal, cake, pastries, egg, bacon, sausage, coffee, etc. All enjoyable, and perfect for what we required. Only bone is that the bacon/egg sometime ran-out 15 minutes before breakfast closed and didn't get replaced.

Underneath the recption building was a very nicely equiped gym, and swimming pool area. The pool with built in jacuzzi started inside, but a brief head-duck , had you outside
in the amazing fresh air and sun. We used this several times both morning and night and very rarely saw anybody else - fantastic.

One final little moan, is that the drinks in the bar are very expensive, 2 Baileys were more expensive then London. Use the local supermarket.

Really really liked the hotel, and felt very safe and comfortable.

Highly recommended to all.

We chose this hotel based on its location..it is just 2,5 kn on bustillo av.so really close to town but at the same time in a very quiet locattion....some other hotels are 30 or 40 km on the same road, which is not convenient if you do not want to rent a car..
Stunning views ,good breakfast, nice swimming pool and an extraodinary massage at their spa..not to be missed!
