My husband and I were looking for a place in Bariloche to ride horses. A lady on the plane recommended Peuma Hue so when I landed in Bariloche I conducted a little research on the place. I loved their philosphy and the package offered. Once we arrived there we were amazed at how beautiful the location is. The hotel is located about 25 mintes from the town of Bariloche, several acres of extremely well maintained land in front of a cristal clear lake. The mountains framed the lake perfectly making the location picture perfect.
We walked the grounds before our ride started and were followed by Alpha (one of their lovely retrievers) who took us to the lake to show us the beautiful views.
Once we arrived at the stables, we found about 9 kittens running around. Their mommy was also there to say hello and to make sure the kittens did not run too far off. The hotel cares for all their animals and they planned to keep all the little guys!!!!! The horses were friendly and the ride was a lot of fun. They took us through the shores of the lake and then up the mountain.
After the ride, we had a maginificent lunch (I am a vegeterian and they had a delicious crepe!) with a lovely selection of wines. It is obvoius that the chef takes great care in putting together the menu. Evelyn, the owner, came down and chatted with us for a while. She is a lovely lady who takes great pride in her hotel and in caring for all her guests.
After all the food and wine, we decided to go hiking. Half way through our hike, we ran into another hiker who was going the opposite direction, guided by Alpha and his sister. Well, 5 minutes later, Alpha found us and guided us the rest of the way!!!!! Amazing!!!!!
Afterwards, we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea were we had the pleausure to talk to some of their staff, including a very attentive waitress from Colorado (I'm sorry I forgot your name).
We enjoyed our day at Peume Hue and our only regret is that we did not know about the hotel before as we would have stayed there.

It has been 2 weeks since we first arrived at Peuma Hue and although we only stayed two nights, we still can't stop talking about our stay. When we arrived we were welcomed by almost the entire staff . We were shown to our rooms, which were large and comfortable but most importantly had the most beautiful view on the lake and mountains. It also had just started to snow and everything had that special sheen to it. In the living room/lounge area we were met by Evelyn (owner) and Marianne, with tea and coffee, who then proceeded to describe all the activities we could do, when meals were served, etc. We had three fantastic meals a day plus cocktail hour with delicious canapés, The chef makes everything from scratch including but not only jams, breads, pastas, and honey etc,. The chef is phenomenal; lunch and dinner are three course meals including smoked wild boar bruschetta and marinated venison with mushrooms and mashed apples in a red berry sauce. We went horseback riding twice with the famed horse whisperer along the lake and through the hills. The horses’ personalities were matched to our personalities which of course made for some interesting conversation. There were several very fun and sweet dogs that accompanied us everywhere and loved to swim in the lake even though it was below freezing outside. We also did a two hour kayaking trip along the lake shore with Marianne which was a blast and hiked in the mountains. The massages were also fantastic and a must-do if you want to be even more relaxed. We are sure it is as beautiful in the summer but for us coming from a warm climate, Peuma Hue covered in snow and the surrounding mountains were magical. The staff did everything to make us feel as if we were at home. When one of us was sick, the staff went out of their way to make a special tea of rose hip and ginger, as well as homemade ginger candies for the cold. After the hustle and bustle of Bariloche, this is the most beautiful place to unwind and appreciate the raw beauty of the area.

If you love the great outdoors, and prefer feeling at home and part of a family rather than in an anonymous hotel then this place is perfect. We had an amazing 4 nights here and loved every moment. It's all good - the food, the horses, the walking, the people, the place itself.. simply stunning.

Top marks to the team, they really 'get it'. We will go back again and again.

Great food, great service, free horseriding through the forests and hills and kayaking on the lake at the bottom of the garden. So comfortable and so far away from it all - perfection.

My husband & I were lucky enough to stay at Peuma Hue for our Honeymoon in October 2009. When we arrived we were completely blown away.....this place is amazing!
We stayed in the Master Suite which is by far the best room we have even seen let alone stayed in. There is even a window above the bed so you can see the mountain top when you first wake! The meals here are to die for.....beautiful steaks, delicious soups, amazing pastas, melt in your mouth desserts - I still dream of those meals! Evelyn & her staff go above & beyond to make sure you have a great time and there is so much to do. From horseriding, kayaking, bushwalking or just soaking it all up - you will love it all. I would go back here in a heartbeat!
