“The best(by far) of 7 visited in Patagonia”
Reviewed 27 November 2007

We just spent 2 nights at Las Marianas and it was just great, we spent 3 weeks in Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia and stayed mostly at small hotels or B Bs(ranging in price from 55 to 135 US), nothing came close to this one, for the price, around 70 US per night, I think its an unbeatable deal. Ill break it down:

-Location: about 10 mins away from the towns main street in a very nice neighborhood.
-Rooms: spacious, the bed was very comfortable.
-Staff: Everyone was very helpful.
-Breakfast: Good variety and quality.
-Property: Very nice, looks recently refurbished.
-Perks: Free internet on their PCs, good programming on Tv.

The only Con that I found was that the restroom was a bit crammed but perfectly usable.

Of all the hotels we visited during our trip this is the only one that I would blindly recommend to any friend or family member.

After four weeks travelling in Argentina and Chile, this charming family run hosteria is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in so far. Extremely comfortable rooms, a great breakfast and friendly, knowledgeable advice on how to spend your time in Bariloche were, as far as we were concerned, the most important ingredients to make our stay really enjoyable. Mother Mariana and daughter Mariana (baby Mariana makes the third) both have first hand experience of the local trekking options and can give excellent advice on where and how to go, depending upon local weather conditions. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a very lovely building with nice rooms and a very good breakfast. The staff is very responsive and friendly. They helped with arrangements and suggestions. The location is on the outskirts above the center of town, about 6 or 7 blocks which is fine going DOWN but a pain going up.

The only really weird thing was the en-suite washroom - it was very small to the point of being rediculous. What made it worse was this tiny washroom even included a bidet. Getting rid of that would be a big help. Even for 1 person using the washroom, it was almost impossible to close the door behind you - and certainly would be impossible if one was a large person. Once inside with the door closed, you could not turn around without knocking into the shower stall, toilet, bidet and/or sink counter. So other than this odity, it was a great place.

In addition to the large, sunny breakfast room (on 2nd floor), there is a large parlour off the front entrance. All bedrooms are 1 floor above ground (with new rooms being added soon on a 3rd floor). A computer is available for use (free) in a reading lounge/loft on the 3rd floor (just above the breakfast room).

Highly recommended for good value. I paid US$50/night for 2 with full breakfast (cereal, yoghurt, coffee/tea, fruit, cakes, apple struedel, juice) on March 26, 2007.

  • Disliked — Tiny washroom couldn't turn around in.
