Overall a nice hostel, and even more so if you're looking to meet fellow travelers. The common area is spacious, homey and there are always interesting fellow travelers lounging around at all times of the day. Breakfast is a generous spread of rolls, croissants, jam, butter and cereal. Reception staff can help arrange tours and with other travel advice for the region, but note that some staff give out erroneous information on bus schedules.

The beds in the shared dorm are lumpy and not that comfortable though. Also, all dorms share a common toilet so it can be quite a mad rush in the mornings.

We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved this hostel! Leo was there to answer all of our questions and there's useful information posted up on the bulletin board. It's located on a quiet street just a block up from the main strip, bus stop (ask the staff if they have an extra bus card to borrow before buying your own), and shopping. Cheap laundry is next door. The breakfast is included and was a welcome treat. We stayed in a private double and it was one of the nicest we've seen on our travels so far.

One of the best I've stayed in. Leonardo and the staff are so friendly and helpful--they even helped us when our flight was canceled. Close to attractions and lots of restaurants/bars. Clean & well equipped.

This was the best hostel I've stayed in so far. Really, really clean, amazingly well equipped kitchen, nice dorms, big common room, nice breakfast and the best host: Leonardo! He is just amazing and makes the whole experience even better.

I visited Bariloche from April 12th to 19th, and decided to stay at Hostel 41 Below because I saw very good comments at trip advisor. I have been in many different hostels before and it feels incredibly great to find a place like this. Everything perfect. Rooms with very confortable beds and huge lockers for each of the residents. Bathrooms extremely clean and functional. Kitchen with everything you can need (more than my own kitchen) and a system where you are given a big bowl to keep your stuff. All areas clean and climatized. Huge living room with sofas, puffs, books, guitar, etc. Most important of all, Leo!!! Amazing person ready before hand to help you in whatever you need. He also cooks and for breakfast he prepares bread and jam with his own hands for us, allowing to enjoy a memorable first food together with butter, “dulce de leche”, “media lunas”, cereal and coffe or tea. He was also very helpful in programming our excursions (great tips here). Nothing but great memories from this place. Can´t wait to visit again!!

Room Tip: All rooms are great!!!

We are middle aged travel bums and not into the party scene these days. Its always a gamble staying at hostels not knowing just how busy / noisy things will be. It was a pleasant surprise that our base for adventures in Bariloche was situated at Hostel 41 Below. The place is centrally located, very close to everything you need like shops, local buses and food etc, its very clean, simple (but has everything you need) and the vibe is friendly and warm. Leo, the manager is fantastic, very chilled and always willing to help if needed, the breakfast these guys provide each morning is the best we have had in two months of travel in Argentina and Chile. We headed out on a few multi day treks in the area and Leo was more than happy to hold our left over luggage while we were away, we always felt it was going to be safe.

Hostels can always be 'hit and miss' depending on the time of year and the crowd staying there. However we feel as though we have been lucky to have found this great little paradise to help enhance our Argentinian Lakes District experience. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay if in Bariloche in the shoulder season, possibly anytime but hard to comment on the busy season as would assume that everywhere would be busy.

Thanks Leo and crew for a great stay, your assistance and providing a warm inviting home away from home, much appreciated :)

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the lake provide an amazing morning view, all doubles have this :)
