The owners are incredibly friendly and sweet, making this otherwise basic lodging a wonderful place to call home for a few days. They offer a packed lunch (for a fee), which is great for taking on the glacier tours. Highly recommend the Korean lunch option of gimbap, which looks like sushi but is filled with cooked beef and vegetables. On our last day, they even made us bibimbap on special request--yummy!
Our apartment slept five of us: two in the bedroom, two in twin beds in an upstairs loft, and one on the sofa "bed" in the living room. We really liked having a kitchen table to sit around after long days visiting the glaciers. The kitchen itself is pretty basic--we opted to eat out for all of our meals, and the property's location makes it an easy walk to the main strip where many restaurants are located.
Because our group split ways at the end of the trip, a few of us stayed at a nice hotel for the last night. Wish we could have stayed here for another night instead. El Calafate is an expensive town, so most options are a little pricey.More
