“Must go!”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

I was initially more excited about the ice bar than the museum itself, but the bar was closed for renovation. The museum, however, was excellent!

The exhibits were very informative and interactive with lots of videos about glaciers not just in Argentina but around the world. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. They really made sure that you get to enjoy the complete experience.

One of the staff, knowing I prefer English to Spanish, would inform me when a video was going to start in the English version or would offer to just start the videos in various exhibits in its English versions for me.

I spent more than 2 hours walking around and reading everything.

It was really an enjoyable and educational day at the museum.

“Good education”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

We visited the Glaciarium the evening before visiting the Perito Moreno Glaciar. It gave us a good background knowledge on the development of glaciers, and has several interesting videos and displays to pass a few hours in the pleasant town of El Calafate. Since we were there in the evening we timed our exit with a beautiful sunset over Lago Argentino.

“Understanding the Glacier and the Ice Bar”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Great job in information about the glaciers. Also reserve your time at the Ice bar when you get your Glaciarium entry tickets. The Ice bar is open every 30 minutes for a number of people, and you drink soft drinks, wine, or vodka (all included in the US$20 entrance fee). You will be provided with a mitten and a polar poncho ( -9deg C inside) Great Experience.

“Really well done”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

This was a terrific mix of education and fun. The museum section included films and models which explained the history and characteristics of glaciers and then we enjoyed some time in the icebar. To warm up after, I recommend a 'submarine' at the coffee shop.

“worth a trip”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

The free shuttle started near our hotel so we took a chance to visit while we were in El Calafate. Do spend a couple of hours there. The Ice Bar is worth the extra ticket price for a 1/2 hour of free drinks and fun photos.
