When visiting this hotel i had the weired feeling of staying somewhere in the alps!
The hotel looks like an alpine hut and has a beautiful view on ushuaia village and the canal. The rooms are basic but warm, the bathroom is very basic but clean.
The staff is nice and tries its best tobbe welcoming, even if food is not the best i had in tierra del fuego, nor service.
The position of the hotel is beautiful in terms of view but not ideal if you need anything in ushuaia: reckon with paying a taxi which has to come from the village or to walk at least 25-30 minutes (and back) to reach the centre.
Breakfast is very basic, hopefully you dont have any special request.

The views from the hotel over the Beagle Channel are wonderful. Near the hotel there are many walks through the mountains and forests. It is quite a way into town but the taxis are plentiful and cheap. The staff were very friendly and eager to please.

Room Tip: Request room overlooking Beagle Channel

The hotel itself is fine. Food is average and the rooms clean.
It is relatively new and reasonably if not sparsely furnished.
I think it was built and located for the winter skiing tourists not the summer cruise population.
It is high up a hill and about a mile out of town. You might be inclined to walk down hill to the downtown area but unless you are in really good shape you don't want to hike back up the hill.
Most people take a cab both ways. So what you might save on room rates is spent on cab fare.

Room Tip: Stay in town. Be aware that many shops and restaurants close during midday i.e. 1-3pm.

We spent three nights in this hotel which is located high above the town. We were in a top floor room with wonderful views out across the Beagle Channel and the town. We were only provided with three coat hangars and when we requested more the staff seemed surprised.
Breakfasts were fine. We used the restaurant one evening. There was an interesting menu and choice of wines. The food was nicely presented and enjoyable. Service was good.
One of the receptionists failed to pass on a message to us about a day trip which let us down rather.
Because of the hotels location it was necessary to get a taxi into town and certainly back up the steep hill which is expensive. A shuttle bus should be provided.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Beagle Channel

Very nice hotel but a 25 minute downhill walk into town and defintely a cab ride back, which in fairness only costs about £4 each way. Rooms are nice, but it would be best to have one in the front as you get the views. We eat here one night and it was quite good, but there are probably better restaurants in town if you want the bother. Breakfast was ok but staff needed to be reminded to replenish. Rooms have wifi, but it is generally not very reliable in Ushuaia. The rooms have a safe.

Room Tip: Get one facing the town

The view from the rooms is wonderful. The hotel is not in the centre so you need to rent a car or to move using a taxi. The rooms are large, clear, and, as I mentioned before, with an excellent view. All the staff s always ready to help you in anything. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
