A great meal by the fire on a rainy night in banos. Good service from French/Spanish speaking host, and a decisions steak meal - get the mushroom over the pepper is my advice. Good wine and quirky decor. Worth a visit over the ever present Mexican, pizza/Italian offerings on every street corner - pricier, but worth it.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, and without their recommendation I think we never were able to find it, since it is quite hidden located off the street. It is a very colorful cozy place and we had delicious steaks! The service is a bit slow, but they gave us garlic bread and generous filled glasses of wine, and we enjoyed our dinner very much!

We went with 4 families (18 people) to Mariane. The food was really nice and the ambiance was cosy, with a fireplace and a french owner.
The only critics was that the service took a bit long.
But really a recommendation.

My husband and I quite enjoyed dining here several times while we were studying Spanish in Banos for four weeks. This is such a quaint, quiet and tucked away jewel, well worth the effort to find it.

A couple of times for an afternoon break, we drank generous glasses of wine along with nibbling on homemade french fries in the outstandingly lovely outdoor garden patio. This was such a relaxing experience for both of us!

For a couple of romantic evening meals, we both ordered the fish (trucha) entrees and were they ever delicious and generous in their portions! And yes, as others before me have said, you must also save room for their incredible desserts.

The owner and manager of this place is super friendly and helpful and will go out of his way to make sure that your dining experience is an excellent one. We also enjoyed many engaging conversations with him and would really like to thank him for his warm hospitality. As well, we had a brief tour of the adjoining hotel and their rooms here...so lovely, clean and reasonably priced.

We simply cannot wait to go back and visit this French restaurant and hotel next year when we return.WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE THE TIME TO ENJOY AT LEAST ONE MEAL AT THIS DELIGHTFUL PLACE DURING YOUR VISIT TO BANOS!

This café is a real treasure as we had dinner twice we had 4 different meals and each one was fantastic! And best of all, save room for the desert. Yes, when you order wine it comes in a large glass and full to the top 8-10 oz. so enjoy the dinner and the warm atmosphere.
