we can only add another five stars for Ove and Aase. As everybody else we felt blessed to be able to stay with those friendly people. We spent four nights there in november 2013: three nights in the red, one in the blue room, both are beautiful, clean and quiet as the place is a little off the center up the hill. Still no problem to walk everywhere! We especially enjoyed the fantastic breakfast - yes, it costs extra, but it is absolutely worth its price - and the contact with Aase and Ove who are always very helpful and sincere.

We hope you will stay there for a while providing this magic place for more happy travellers who appreciate it!

Just a short walk from town, the magic stone B&B provides a restful and relaxing stay in Banos. The lovely hosts Ove and Aase are welcoming and make you feel at home. I appreciated the recommendations they provided for exploring the town - when we indicated we were going to cycle la Ruta de las Cascadas, they were able to recommend an affordable bike rental company in town with new bikes. After our morning cycling we returned to relax for a bit and Aase kindly set up hammocks in the backyard. Also, their homemade breakfast items (available at a reasonable additional expense) were fresh and delicious. I certainly recommend staying at the Magic Stone B&B!

Magic Stone is perfectly located just on the outskirts of Banos Central and a short walk into town. Owned by a wonderful Danish couple, Ove and Aase - they put a stamp on excellent hospitality and an amazing peaceful experience. Offered great choices on restaurants and things to do, such as an off the beaten path Thermal Springs. I have no issues offering a recommendation for this guesthouse and would go back without hesitation.

It was a real treat for us to stay here a couple of nights. We so enjoyed having such a pleasant, high quality place to go back to after hikes or a banos/piscine visit. We tried the three main public hot spring centers – two are within walking distance, and the third is a short taxi ride, Ove and Aase will fill you in. Ove also does guided tours, they have been in Ecuador for many years and have a lot of information to share.
As has been said in all the other reviews they are the quintessential hosts! – and both are great bakers to boot! Don’t miss the Danish rolls (tebirkes). Filtered water is provided in a jug to your room, and the internet worked perfectly while we were there. All in all highly recommendable. Very reasonably priced as well – just go to their website magicstonebanos to book.

Or, even if you hadn't planned on visiting Banos, just get online and make your reservation now. Because you would be missing one of the best guesthouse experiences going-anywhere! I have stayed in this type of accommodation in many, many locations around the globe over the past thirty years and Aase and Ove, the wonderful Danish couple who own/manage the B&B, are the consummate professionals at this not-so-easy task.

Every last little thing at the Magic Stone is just perfect in my estimation. From the simple elegance of your surroundings up on the hill overlooking the town, the tasteful decor of the well-appointed rooms, to the terrific Danish style breakfast (a nice change of pace, I must say) with *real* organic coffee, properly made-yes, you do have to pay a bit extra for the breakfast, but it is *soooooo* worth it. Where else are you going to get homemade Danish for breakfast, unless you have a lovely little Danish grandmother at your house?

But, if you are like me, the reason you travel is to meet some of the best people on the planet Earth and there are two fantastic examples here running the Magic Stone to offer you their gracious hospitality and valuable advice. Just don't miss it. I will be sure to be back again myself!

Room Tip: the room with two beds necessitates a little ladder-climbing to reach the loft where the second one...

Magic Stone is more than just an excelent B&B; it is a home away from home, a peaceful haven run by a wonderful Danish couple who offer a nice, quiet, clean and safe place to rest. My girlfriend and myself spent two wonderful nights at the Magic Stone, I can only recommend this place if you are going to stay in Baños. My only advice: make sure to book in advance!

We stayed in Magic Stone for three nights and felt wonderful there. The room was impeccably clean; we could finally take properly hot showers; the bed was the most comfortable we have had in our three months of traveling and we got really good sleep, also thanks to the quiet location. Although the place is located away from the noise of the town, it is only a few minutes walk to the main square and all the rest. The owners were very kind and helpful and I can't say enough good things about their delicious breakfasts. The home-baked bread and everything else we were served made our hearts sing! Overall a great experience and I can truly recommend this beautiful place.

their breakfasts were heavenly.
