What a charming little café! We found Amarelo Coffee Shop when we were looking for a place to watch the World Cup game, and we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was! Everything we had was absolutely delicious, and the staff was so great, letting us sit there for the entirety (almost 2 hours) of the Argentina vs. Holland game, even when they went into overtime penalty kicks.

This is our first time visiting Banos, and our hosts took us to Amarelos on our first evening here. The food was delicious! Two of us ordered salads and they were very accommodating to dietary adjustments. The other two shared the seafood platter and said the mussels and ceviche were excellent! I loved the casual atmosphere and the bookshelves filled with books of all languages would keep even a solo traveler busy for hours. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Banos.

We had lunch there today. Excellent as usual, that is why we keep coming back. We arrived there at 12 noon and they were just opening. We were welcomed and received our drinks quickly followed by our order. The food was flavorful and tender. The owner came around a few times to see if everything was in order but never hurried us. We'll be back again for more.

Most mornings found me at Amarelo's drinking coffee with friends. Coffee, chocolate, cheeses, seasonings and spices mean that most of what you may need out of the ordinary for Banos is available from these friendly folks.
