We stayed at Monte Selva for 2 nights in July 2012. There was 6 of us, 4 in a cabin and 2 in a regular room. The cabin was very pleasant, it slept 5 with bunk beds, a queen and a twin. The room was clean, decent water pressure and excellent hot water, anyone who has spent time in Ecuador knows that you don't always get hot water. The hot springs that they advertise was a little hit and miss, only one of the pools was truly working, the others were under repair. They have a nice outside pool and hot tub area.
Check out the local zoo, very nice and inexpensive.More
