We stayed at Tailuas for 3 days, we were the only guests and were looked after by a nice young man called Able. The fale was primo, it was on the grass yet a metre from the sand. The matress's were new and thicker than any others we stayed at. Tailuas is a small group and plain to look at particulary the dining room, but we got the best of both worlds as we could go to the other fale bars to socialise but had ours to our selves. Able cooked awesome food and we enjoyed his company. If you ever come to New Zealand Able come and visit us.

Right on the beach!.
A great spot to base yourself if fales are your thing.
We really didn't want to leave here.
At 60 tala per person per night including breakfast and dinner we thought it was excellent value.
The Fales have a mattress on the floor.
Bed linen and mosquito nets are also included.
There is a seperate amenities block with cold showers.
Titi is a great hostess and nothing is too much trouble for her.

Vacations Resort just down the road have a nice traditional bar on the beach and offer lunch and dinner should you wish.

The Lava walk is close by as well.........
A great spot and we will certainly return.

Room Tip: All the Fales are beachfront

We stayed from 5 - 10 April 2012 for my daughter's wedding. The staff were friendly and caring and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. There is not a lot to do but there is snorkeling and swimming in the beautiful waters only metres away from your accommodation which were clean and adequate, there is also walking and you can relax and read. The diningroom and food for breakfast, lunch and dinner at night was very pleasant and catered for all. It was an amazing experience and truly one to be remembered and we will return.

Room Tip: We had Jim's house which suited us which was at the end of the resort and was away from the cent...

We stayed at Tailua Beach Fales for a night in April, wish we had got there earlier so we could have stayed longer!! We had a fantastic stay, with a VERY comfortable bed, clean toilets (showers a little light, but serves it purpose) and amazing food!!! The grass that is under the Fales is great as it gets rid of all the sand before you get into your fale. Beach is amazing, and the resorts are a 3 minute walk away for cold coctails if you wish!! Coconuts on arrival were welcomed also. Definitely recommend, if your looking for budget open fale accommodation.

I accidently discovered Tailua’s while planning our Samoan holiday and I’m so glad I did. It was exactly what I was looking for, paradise! There’s not enough words to describe how beautiful the beach and village are and I have no idea where to start in describing the generosity of the family who run Tailua’s. It was my first experience of fale accommodation and I was a little nervous about staying 4 nights in one, but ended up wishing I had stayed longer. I’m usually a mosquito magnet, but didn’t get bitten at all, not a great fan of bugs – but didn’t see anything worthy of a scream, the showers being cold was not an issue because the temperature was 30C every day, and as for sleeping in an open fale with the sound of the ocean on the reef....best sleep I have had in years! Titi the wonderful lady who runs the place has to be the best cook on the island, the food she served us was delicious and plentiful (breakfast & dinner were included) if by some chance you were hungry later in the day the villagers place bunches of banana’s along the roadside for anyone to eat. Titi & her family have just finished putting in a new dining fale right on the water’s edge, which was the perfect setting for our meals. Tailua’s is small compared to the other accommodation options along Manase beach, which is exactly what I was looking for. The grass around the fales meant we didn’t track sand inside. The swimming was good at all tides while we were there, didn’t need my reef shoes to go swimming. The Coral was great, an abundance of reef fish to spend hours viewing (again possible at all tides). But best of all has to be the care and attention Titi lavished us, this awesome hostess will be the reason I return to Samoa!

Room Tip: To contact Tailua's (as no website/email) phone Titi or Ina on 54102 (Home) or 7202211 (Mobile).

This is a wonderfully relaxing place to stay. I have stayed at 5 other places on the main island including Lolamanu and wanted somewhere to stay just to get away from it all and unwind.
This place was recommended by the pizza place we stopped at just down the road.
What makes it so lovely is the owners make you feel like it's a home away from home... it's wonderful home cooked food and better eating than other places I stayed at.
It's very quiet and peaceful and it is great having the grass around the fales as you don't drag sand then into your fale. The price is fantastic considering it includes two home cooked meals. Great value for money and lovely to lie in your fale at night and listen to the waves crashing 20 feet away :)

If you are looking for luxury don't go to Tailuas. However if you are looking for a magic spot on the beach with a local family that will make you feel one of them Tailuas is the place. Titi and Ena are in the forefront feeding you and making you feel at home. Other memebrs of the family are ensuring you and your possessions are safe in a quiet unassuming manner.

The Fales are basic (Mattress on the floor) but comfortble enough and situated between the road and beach. This means a bit of road noise in the mornings but who wants to sleep through a beautiful sunrise, sleep in the heat of the day like the locals. Bathrooms are also basic (cold water through a pipe) but clean, adequate and close. The food is plentyful, lots of variety, based on local produce and served communially. Bananas are available 24/7. For the price its one of the best values for money I have experienced. Racy's beacr bar is across the road and their internetcafe 2 minutes walk. Racy and Zita are very helpful. The sun is hot, the beach sandy, the water warm but the best memorable part is the Titi and her family, they are lovely. Thanks for a lovely 5 days ( and thats probably enough in a small place like Manase.
