“The perfect place to relax!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2013

We are regular visitors to Samoa and usually stay in beach fale accommodation. This time we decided to spoil ourselves and believe we chose the perfect place. We loved that it provided all the main attractions (for us) namely, a pool, a lovely quiet beach, snorkelling, a bar, a restaurant and with only 10 rooms there were not hundreds of people milling around which can often make the larger resorts so impersonal. Due to the fewer numbers, we were able to meet other couples and families from other parts of the world which added to the enjoyment of the stay. We were truly able to relax and it became a real holiday.

The rooms were of a good size, the bed comfortable and air conditioning was welcome as the nights are warm. If there was any complaint it would be that the rooms were too dark to read at night and the lamps by the bed were no help in this respect. Rooms were well serviced each day.

The staff were helpful and very friendly. The breakfasts (price built in) were really good. Each day there was the same fruit but always something else that was different e.g. muesli one day, pancakes the next, omelette, french toast etc.

The pool was great to freshen up and the steps and it was great to be able to use the steps in front of the fales to go down to the water, slip on the flippers and mask and out to the coral. We have snorkelled in many places in Samoa and about 200m offshore at La Lagota was some of the best.

Being able to hire a car from the resort is an added bonus.

We can thoroughly recommend Le Lagoto and we will definitely go back.

We stayed here before heading over to the other Island and we loved it here, the fale was nice and clean and great air con, it was a lovely setting, there was no water front ones left but that would be perfect. The place was very quiet and on all our photos our friends have asked if there was anyone else there! the snorkelling was great and the water lovely, we found the food good, and the resorts restaurant was a lovely setting and view, the sunsets were amazing althoug It didnt seem to have the amazing night skys the other Island had, but hey thats being picky!. Savaii was lovely and we took the time out to drive around the whole Island, if you have time have a look around.
The massage was awesome too..
Well reccomended. :-)

Room Tip: If you can get water front go for it!

We were extremely pleased with the facility and its location. Very clean and comfortable. The road is quite close but separated by a high wall which shelter from the noise. I would recommend you try to get a falle on the ocean side so that you can enjoy the view to the max. Plenty of water activities (kayak, diving, snorkeling etc....)

The staff is very friendly, the cooking for dinner absolutely delicious (even though we were somewhat disappointed to have some tin tuna when ordering a tuna salad for lunch...)

We warmly recommend the place

Room Tip: Try to get an ocean side

We stayed for 6 days in an oceanview fale. Literally 30 feet from the ocean.
The location is beautiful right on the beach with stunning sunsets most nights. The snorkelling was very good and the coral was stunning.
However the service given by the staff was hard to figure out. We couldn't decide if they genuinely couldn't be bothered or were shy? I suspect it was the latter. We spoke to everyone and only Seti conversed with us. I am sure without him this resort would not work at all. The food was also nothing to write home about. We ate most of our meals at the Savaii Lagoon Resort where the service was much much better and the menu changed daily.
We had the tropical breakfast every morning and this was very nice.
The room was large and spacious and the aircon worked well. There is also a safe in our room which was very handy. The shower was okay and sometimes there was no water to flush the toilet. There is a small outdoor deck but the lounger was soooo rotten with nails sticking out that we couldnt sit on it. I think an addition of a small outside table would be a good idea.
The Resort Management need to up there game somewhat. We are tourists yes, but we also have money to spend!! There was no activities to book eg: fishing trips, cruises, island tours, village visits etc. Not even a postcard to buy!!!

Room Tip: Dont worry about getting an oceanview room you are so close it doesnt matter!!

We are a family of four and we had an absolute ball here. We stayed with another family from Gisborne, N.Z. The Resort far exceeded my expectations & I truly felt like I was having a real holiday, no cleaning, dishes etc. The only main stressor being what cocktail to have each evening by the pool! I love how it was a smaller boutique type resort and therefore the numbers staying were small, but enough to have the company of others if desired. Great accommodation, the aircon was a very welcome addition, very private the way they are set out. Wonderful staff, very gracious, beautifully turned out, attentive without being intrusive.
Snorkelling out the front was a real winner with the kids, we snorkelled for hours! My boy keeps asking me "When are we going back mum?"

Room Tip: Carry plenty of Samoan Tala on you, for all the attractions you may see around Savaii

We spent a week travelling all over Samoa, both Upolu and Savai'i, and this place was unforgettable. Easily the best food in the country, and excellent service! The restaurant offers an excellent view of the ocean from a very well-built upscale fale, and the server who sang through most of the meal was welcoming and attentive with a great sense of humour. Some of us had more traditional Samoan food while others had standard fare. The Samoan food was best, but it was all good.

We stayed 3 nights in Savaii and choose this resort as it was highly recommended. Some pro's and con's:

Pro:
- nice snorkel and diving spot
- one super friendly staff (older man with golden tooth). He really made the stay a bit more enjoyable
- dinner/lunch is good
- Thursday cultural night was very amusing

Con:
- most of the staff were not always friendly and often did not understand proper English to serve clients.
- breakfast was disappointing. Always same fruit and for anything else you paid extra
- no sun lounges at the pool
- for that price, you expect perfection not average quality
