“Excellent service and beautiful beachside location”
Reviewed 30 January 2014 via mobile

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern yet were constructed in the style of a Samoan fale. All rooms are a few steps from the beach and have a nice deck that opens up to beautiful ocean views. Loved this place, would definitely recommend this resort to anyone going to Savai'i!

We arrived @ Le Lagoto on Dec 17th 2013 after driving off the ferry along the South Coast Rd of Savaii with a visit to the blow holes on route..We were made welcome by Seti & shown our room.As it was early afternoon we were advised that lunch was still being served & as we had paid for a meal package with our room package we had a look around & headed to the resturant.Immediatly Seti & Paul appeared & informed us we could have anything off the menu. From then on every meal was amazing.Always fresh & beautifully cooked & presented. We had breakfast ,lunch & dinner each day & never found anything wrong with any meal over the 3 days we were there. The fruit smoothies & vanilla milkshakes made @ the bar are some of the best we have ever tasted.
The rooms were very clean as was the bathroom, & both were serviced to a high standard each morning. The property was maintained to a high standard & everything was immaculate right down to the covered walk ways to each guest room/fale.All rooms are airconditioned & luvered also. Each room has a small balcony looking out to sea .There are beach front rooms & garden rooms that look onto a lovely strip of lawn & garden down to the beach.
There are canoes to use,the snorklling is great & the pool is also lovely.Sadly the Spa was closed as the staff were away so we didnt get to go there & the sea was too rough for the chartered boat to go fishing when we enquired, but still plenty to do.We drove to the Lava Fields/Church & back to the wharf to look around on the North Coast Rd. We saw the turtles & sat in the sun & lay in the pool & had a lovely relaxing stay.We met some very nice people also staying & had lovely evening meals with new friends.Sadly we checked out on Dec 20th 2013.We hope to return one day.Thank you for the wonderful stay..Especially Seti & Paul for your friendship & great host skills.Chrystal,Paa'amo,Lucas & Camille..

Room Tip: Front rooms on lovely lawn raised above the beach & garden rooms set slightly back but still wit...

We stayed for one week at Le Lagoto (first week of November 2013), and completely fell in love with the casual resort style - with amazing grounds, beautiful beach and attentive friendly staff. The Resort was very quiet, being the start of the low season and we enjoyed the amazing weather. The pool was perfect, and the beer super cold. The tropical breakfast was super, and we loved heading down the beach for a few cocktails at the neighbouring resort. Pretty quiet spot all round, so take a good book and a pack of cards. Will return. Thankyou to all the staff for looking after the Buchanan family so well.

Room Tip: The family apartment was fantastic so we could have separate rooms to the kids - it did have a wee b...

If you want to get married on Savaii and have a hassle free day, then Le Lagoto is the place for you. We arranged our wedding (we eloped) from Australia about 2 weeks before we landed. Everything was as discussed and was perfect for us. We had a beautiful beach wedding with a flowered arch and an aisle lined with flowers, the pastor was from the local Church of Samoa and he has lovely and made the day very special. We had dinner on the beach at sunset with our own waiter and a string band, you couldn't ask for anything more. It was amazing. Gabriella and her team go out of their way to ensure everything is done and on time. My flowers arrived at our room just before I had to go (which was perfect considering the heat in December). Una from the Hotel was fabulous as were the other staff on during our stay. The lobster was excellent and cheap! What else could we want?? The rooms had great views and were nice and big, plenty of room to spread out.
Thank you Le Lagoto, it was perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a beachfront bungalow, you get a nice breeze and great views.

We stayed here for four nights and were very impressed with the room (beachfront bungalow) and location. They reflected the slightly higher price and the breakfast included was delicious. However, we found one female member of staff working behind the front desk to be rude and unhelpful when trying to hire a car and book onward accommodation and transfers. Despite this we loved Savaii'i and the evening meals at the close by pizza restaurant were delicious and even did delivery to the beach!

I stayed a total of 9 nights over 2 weeks there in the beach bungalows. Upside the view and the bungalow rooms were perfect and grounds well kept. However the self containing apartments Jim's house had a lot of maintenance issues. The windows broken and would not lock correctly, the oven did not work and lack of utensils and the front door key didn't work. When asked to fixed this, our request was ignored.
If I was rating just the rooms I would give the bungalows 5/5 and self containing apartments 2/5

Service: There was one staff in particular that was hospitable and always had a smile on her face, this was the Fa'afafine who was amazing! Her english was excellent and was engaging in conversation and knowledgeable when offering advice. If there were another 1 or 2 more people like her at Le Lagoto maybe I wouldn't of noticed the terrible service for her colleagues, It seemed to be a bother when asking for bar service, food service and room service or any kind of service. Such a shame for the beautiful spot in Savaii that they could produce such awful staff.

Tip: Avoid the shop across the road, the price varied depending which staff member you had at the counter.

Had a wonderful stay here - beautifully located and the rooms are spacious, well appointed and airconditioned. The only downside is the food isn't great. But in terms of somewhere to stay it's lovely.
