Perfect getaway from the pressures of urban life, can relaxed with sound of waves lapping on the sandy beaches, excellent menu of local dishes and a beautiful and cultured hostess with knowledge of the culture and local tales that will entertain the perceptive minds.
Also this is where the Head of State of Samoa resides when he travels to the Motutele i Salafai...

We travelled around both islands and found this place to be one of the best. If you are looking for somewhere to stay on the south coast of Savaii we highly recommend you stay here. The food was exceptional, we recommend the spicy fish! The beach is lovely and the fales are more private then other resorts we stayed at. We had a power cut on the night we stayed but we didn't care as we had a candlelit dinner, great food and drinks and good company with our hosts!!

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Satuiatua Beach Resort. Phila was extremely friendly, accommodating and so willing to help in any way that she could. It was really invaluable having her to talk to about our Samoan trip.
The fale's are nice and clean, the food is great, very affordable as are the drinks. It was so nice sitting in the restaurant overlooking the water as the sun went down.
We definitely hope to go back one day, Satuiatua Beach Resort has a beautiful atmoshpere and we would definitely recommend it.

My partner and and I stayed here in May 2013. We were nearly at the end of our trip and although the Lonely Planet we had didn't mention much about Satuiatua, we thought we'd give it a go. The host, Phila, was so welcoming and although we hadn't made a booking and just showed up with our luggage she made us immediately feel at home. She put us in the Sunset Fale, which was absolutely beautiful - with gorgeous sunsets as the name suggests. Although we had planned to just stay here for a night or two, we ended up staying on for 5 nights and finishing our Samoa trip here.

Phila's children were really fun to be around - both very smart little guys and we really enjoyed getting to know them. Phila's mother was also a presence and was an absolute riot and like her daughter, she was very generous and kind! She even took us to the waterfall in her car one day when she was driving into town.

In terms of the beach itself, it was beautiful - with some really great snorkeling to be had. The food was the best food we had eaten in Samoa, the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and all of the staff were lovely.

When I left my mobile phone there, Philla patiently and very helpfully got it sent back to New Zealand for me.

This was a super romantic spot and we believe we conceived our child here. (lol) He or she is due any day now. We hope to be able to come back again with our son or daughter one day!!
Can't wait to come back!

Our family had a great time at Satuiatua. This was our favourite place on Savaii, and we wish we could have returned to stay here again. We also found it to be the best snorkelling in Samoa of the places we visited. The food was great, and kids loved being able to choose something off the menu. It was definitely my 6 year old's favourite spot, as there were other kids to play with, and she loved the swing and the treehouse. Phila was lovely and very helpful, as was her son who came snorkelling with us. We will definitely return to Satuiatua next time we are in Samoa. Loved it!

We had an incredible 5 days in Satuiatua Beach Resort. Phila and her staff were great. We stayed in the beach fale and loved sitting on the deck at the end of the day watching the sun go down. Our girls (9 and 10) had a great time with Phila's two sons, Amu and Tino. The food was good, the snorkeling and swimming were perfect for young children. We had a car so it was easy to travel to different sights. We went swimming at the waterfall, saw the blowholes, did the canopy walk and visited the church destroyed by lava. Phila can give you all the information for these sites. We enjoyed strolling in the village and up the road for BBQ and huge ice cream cones. You will not be disappointed!

We felt completely at home during our four-night stay thanks to the attentive (and cheeky!) care of Phila & staff. You guys are the best, as are the coral, the fales and the food. We could have easily stayed longer - so it looks like we'll have to come back soon! Definitely our favourite in Savaii!
