Best stay in Samoa. This resort outclassed the other 2 resorts we stayed in. The friendliness, service, food and fresh water were excellent. Tony and Melissa were wonderful hosts. The contribution to and care of the local village also gave this resort a sense of community that showed with the local staff - thanks June! We will be back.

The resort has such a stunning beach location and we loved swimming in the beautiful beach and exploring the amazing coral right on the resort's doorstep. The restaurant had great food and overlooked the beach. We loved the range of things to do. The the Plantation walk was the highlight of our week long Samoa trip, completely due to our charming, enigmatic local guide June. We also loved the freindly service from the snorkeling company accross the road. The only downside was the lack of air-conditioning in the rooms, making sleep a little challenging on the very hot nights. Tony, Melissa and all the staff were amazing hosts, really making an effort to make us feel welcome. Even on of our party being struck with appendicitis was not too much for their skills!

Thank you for an excellent review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your holiday and the facilities we provide. To answer your concern about lack of aircon, we do state on our website that we have overhead fans. We do our utmost to remain environmentally friendly and sustainable, and we find generally that our guests feel that aircon is not necessary. However, in the last few weeks, it has been unusually warm with very little breeze to relieve the still air. The locals themselves have been complaining about the high temps and lack of breeze. Unfortunately, our managers were not aware that you had difficulties with the lack of aircon, otherwise they would have given you another floor standing fan to alleviate your problem. We do hope that this one off problem will not deter you from visiting again. With our alofas and best wishes from the Savaii Lagoon team.

The perfect remedy for those in need of total rest and relaxation. A beautiful location, from the delightful bungalows to the sandy beach and warm, clear blue sea. Melissa and Tony were the perfect hosts, they made us feel like they genuinely cared and nothing was too much trouble. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and what a lovely surprise to find the maids had decorated the room with flowers everywhere and heart-shaped towels! The restaurant overlooks the lagoon, delicious food and the menu changes daily. We can honestly say this was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have had.

Our family of four recently returned from a FANTASTIC holiday at the resort. The setting is stunning - everything you picture when thinking of a pacific island getaway (sun, white sand, warm water teeming with fish). The bungalows are well set up, beautifully decorated, and are very clean and comfortable. Our hosts (Tony and Melissa) are friendly, lovely people, with a strong service focus. All staff at the resort were friendly and helpful.

The food was great. Our children are 6 and 9 years, and our whole family's tastes were well satisfied. A lot of thought has gone into the daily menus, which are local, fresh, and delicious.

Highly recommended as a relaxing destination. We can't wait to return!

If you're looking for a resort where you can lie beside the pool and dine in a sumptuous restaurant, you'll need to book somewhere else. Savai'i Lagoon boasts a wonderful simplicity. Only 10 bungalows in total, all no more than 20 metres from the beautiful white sandy beach. It's intimate and simple. What makes this place so special is the staff. They are all from local villages, are genuine, friendly, warm and hospitable. So, if you want to relax under an umbrella, eat delicious simple, local cuisine, snorkel, kayak, and take a walk through a local village and plantation this place is perfect and for the same money as you'd spend on an average motel room in NZ.

A beautiful place to relax. Friendly service from Tony & Melissa and their staff. A comfortable little house, the studio; natural air conditioning via the louvre windows and breeze. Very enjoyable meals, different dinner menu each day. We did enjoy the tropical fruit selection for breakfast and the quantities were generous.
The resort uses local food where possible and shows a caring attitude for the environment.
The restaurant closed for dinner on Thurs & Sunday ; we went to Le Lagoto for Thurs Fia Fia show and buffet, well worth while. Sunday, a pizza, but I am not a fan of pizza, so no comment.
If you just want to wind down, swim , snorkel, or do nothing , this is the place to come to. Plenty of books in the library, fiction and non fiction.
Swimming with the turtles close by which we visited last year is good and I guess the turtles stand a better chance of living than in the ocean. Many places of interest to visit but we were there to enjoy doing as little as possible
Catching the plane to NZ at 20.00hrs involves a lot of waiting and we would suggest the 16.00hrs ferry and straight to the airport, asuming that the ferry is running( a real rust bucket if ever there was one!)
Our second trip to Samoa and this was definitely the best of 4 places that we have stayed at.
