My husband, two sons and I came for our first trip to Samoa on a family holiday. What a beautiful, beautiful place. We were greeted at the airport with fresh cold coconuts and ice cold washers, a fabulous start to a fabulous resort. Our room was beautiful and the outdoor lava shower is just fantastic, loved showering out there especially under the star filled sky at night.
The service was just beyond words, the staff are just remarkable, so friendly, polite and just beautiful. A special mention to Tala, this guy was so good to us, nothing was too much trouble and he could not do enough to ensure our holiday was perfect, we will never forget how awesome he is, not to forget Tua, Quentin and Melton who also made our stay very comfortable and special. All the staff are just fabulous. We did some great tours, our favorite being the trench, where you climb down into a crater created by lava that has an ocean fed pool at the bottom. We have fallen in love with Samoa and will be back very soon. Great place for a relaxing and cultural holiday.

Just came back from our honeymoon. 7 days spent at the amazing Sa'moana Resort. Not only the place is amazingly beautiful, but the staff is awesome and made our holidays so special. We were pampered with a beautifully decorated room, cold coconuts when picked up from the airport, gorgeous beach just a few meters in front of our room, a gorgeous lava rock shower, and so much more. A huge thanks to Steve and Tala, who went out of their ways to make sure we had the best time of our lives. You guys are amazing, and this week wouldn't have been so awesome without your kindness and patience. You guys rock! We already miss the outside shower and the sound of the waves! Will be back as soon as we can ;)
Thanks for everything, we had a blast!

We stayed at Samoana Rentals for two weeks in January this year. Upon our arrival we were welcomed into the newly furnished self contained unit which had two bedrooms, with two double beds in each room, a separate bathroom n toilet, lounge area, kitchen, dining table, oven, microwave, cutlery and kitchen ware. The unit also had fans and air con. This two bedroom unit could fit up to eight people and from memory we paid around $220 tala p/n for a brand NEW room. We were the first guests to use the new apartments! Our room was serviced daily and towels and sheets were changed almost everyday or as requested. Toilet paper was provided also. The place is located across from Apia Park so if you are a sporty person this could be ideal for you. It is only a two min drive into Apia shops, clubs and restaurants. Many may know Samoana Rentals as the car rental place. The apartments are located on the premises where the car rental business is. This may be one of the downfalls as it can get pretty busy during the day outside as people come in to pick up or return rental cars. If you are looking for somewhere comfortable and affordable this is the place for you. However if you are looking for something more luxurious with pools, restaurant/bar and somewhere not located near where there is abit of automobile activities going on then this may not be your cup of tea. Wifi connection was also an issue which im sure is something that can easily sorted if need be. I had enough data on my phone hence the reason internet connection didn't bother me too much. Our belongings were safe. The gates are locked at night for safety reasons, however there is a security guard there who can open the gates for you at any time. The staff were great esp the owner James and beautiful wife. We ended up needing to book another room for another family member n kids and because the room was upstairs and we had two little kids, they recommended we keep the kids downstairs in our room and adults go upstairs only because they were concerned for the kids safely which was very thoughtful of them. This was definitely a great stay for me and the busy periods outside didnt bother me much because we were out most of the day and busy with the wedding we were there for. At the end of the day it was nice to come back to a clean bed, nice shower and aircon. To me this was home away from home.

Room Tip: Recommend the new two bedroom apartments for families or groups of friends.

We had booked a 2 week surf trip to the Solomon Islands, but a severe weather event meant we had to cancel that trip at the last minute. As we would not get holidays together again in a long time we decided to find another location, and quickly as we were already 4 days into our trip. We telephoned Sa'Moana and were able to book in the next day, so we changed our flights and off we went. Samoa is paradise. Beautiful, friendly and safe. The staff and management at Sa'Moana went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay a great one. We surfed 5 out of the 7 days - thanks Ferani - and the other days we visited some of the natural beauty (you must visit Tu Sua) thanks Samoa. When we decided to extend our stay the resort was full so the management and staff cleaned out the house at the back for us to stay in. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys. So a BIG thank you from us to Steve, Ferani, Samoa, Mountain and the rest of the management team and wonderful staff. You saved our surfing holiday..

We stayed here for almost a week on our honeymoon back in 2007 and it was absolutely devine. Kept the husband busy with the surfing charters, and kept me happy being able to chill out by the pool.

The bungalows are just gorgeous, nicely furnished, making them feel modern without taking away from that tropical island feel, with awesome outdoor shower!

The staff are friendly and go out of their way to please you.

My only (good) gripe was probably putting on a bit of weight due to the absolutely fantastic food that is on offer!!

We just spent 5 beautiful nights on Honeymoon at Sa'Moana Resort. It was the perfect place to relax! The amazing staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. We stayed in the Pool View Bungalow which had amazing views of the ocean through the palm trees, and an awesome outdoor lava rock bathroom. The tours and service from all the staff at Sa'Moana Resort was exceptional and we highly recommend this resort to others!

Room Tip: For couples, the Pool View bungalow was fantastic!

I want to start out by thanking Steve the manager , Daniel, one of the owners and all the staff from Sa'Moana Resort - particularly Friani - Surf Guide / Adventure Man - for making our stay a most memorable one. Right from the start with some frantic phone calls from Brisbane after our surf trip to the Solomon Islands was washed out - Steve and the crew were so helpful and accommodating going above and beyond what was required to help us out . I have been to Tonga , Fiji ,the Maldives and Indonesia and I would have to say that Samoa would be the cleanest and possibly the most picturesque of them all. We went for the surf and like with any surf trip it can be luck of the draw , we got some good waves , not epic but fun and Friani showed us the surf potential of the area. The Resort itself was very nice , clean and well kept and the outdoor enclosed showers were a great touch. The food was fantastic and the local beer went down very easily after a long day of surfing or exploring some of the natural wonders.I have not stopped talking about Sa'Moana Resort and Samoa to any body that will stand still long enough to listen. Well done Steve and all the Staff - we will be back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We are a small 3.5 star remote, idyllic beach resort located at the end of the long, windy Salamumu beach road (about 6km track off main road). Our simple colorful wooden bungalows are all absolute beach front with their own private outdoor lava rock bathroom, private deck and of course fabulous beach and Pacific Ocean views. We are the perfect location for active families, couples and singles who want to totally switch off from the World for the length of their stay and be "Off The Grid" and see the real Samoa and maybe want something a little different from the standard "out of the brochure" vacation. We have an all-day bar and restaurant with comfortable seating for a sunset cocktail, good music including traditional Samoan tunes and great vibes. All our staff are local so can share their knowledge of the best places to visit, and the stories of the real Samoa. We do a weekly cultural show and a traditional Samoan Fire Dance and Haka display every Thursday - free to our guests. Guests are welcome to surf out front - its intermediate to advanced level and you need to bring your own board. Surf Tours can be arranged with local operators when you are here. There are several within 20/30 minutes of our resort. Car hire is highly recommended so you get to see the best of our beautiful island and discover your own magical parts of it - we can recommend lots for you to do and provide a map and some local advice. Please note we are not near any public transport, shops or other resorts / restaurants - we are literally a tropical island hideaway! If this is what you seek - you won't be disappointed! ... more   less
