“Hometown Lunch”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

Whenever we are in Nogales, Az. we have to stop here. We've been eating here since they opened in 1993. My favorite meal there is breakfast, but this time it was lunch. It is the best authentic food you can get without crossing the border. The flour tortillas are delicious, and you can even purchase them by the pack to go.

“Drunken Shrimp”
Reviewed 25 June 2013

The seafood here is worthy. Call ahead to see if they are open; we have arrived during what we thought were dinner hours, and found the place closed.

“What a great taste of local cuisine”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

Our favorite lunch spot in Nogales. This is a busy, little place with great Mexican taste abounding. I have been there many times and never had cold food. It always seems fresh, authentic, and appealing to us. There are no frills in decor or presentation, but you get more than your money's worth. Ask about the daily special which is often the best option but not advertised anywhere. And, yes, parking is an adventure.

“Very local food”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

This is one stop short of being in grandma's kitchen. When you walk in you can see them cooking. It is very plain, very local, and it is the favorite of many people. Just know that it is not fancy and parking can be challenging but you will get truly local Mexican food.
