I've seen this hotel from the road on previous trips to Tucson/Oro Valley but never stayed there. We didn't have a lot of choices because we made our plans late. It was a great location so we 'settled'. Turns out it was a great value. The rooms were clean and the staff was great. Over the weekend the place was pretty full but you'd never know it. It was very qiuet and comfortable. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here 2 nights while our daughter competed in a recent swim meet in Tucson. If this hadden't been the "host" hotel nearby the pool we would have switched hotels before sleeping the first night.

At a recent stay at HIE Oro Valley: This hotel is good choice for its class of hotel. Pros: Excellent mattresses, nice towels. Nice pool area. OK hot breakfast. Friendly and helpful service. Front desk was very helpful at a variety of tasks and inquiries. Rooms are large and equipped and furnished as you would expect but the overall effect was that the rooms were a little dark and a little worn. Cons: 1) Room lighting should be brighter and 2) This hotel had very, very weak WiFi signal in both our rooms (and in breakfast room as I recall). It was not usable. Business center had 2 ancient PC computers: one worked, one did not. Slow connection. Lighting in business center made viewing screens difficult. Also weak cell signals in rooms. Fix internet/WiFi/signal issues and stay would have been much better and recommendation much higher.

Had to make an unplanned trip to the Oro Valley area. Arranged to stay at the Holiday Inn via Hotels.com and was very happy with the price, with the pleasant staff, and with the accommodations. A great value!

The rooms were large and very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The high speed wireless internet in our room was fast. The views from our room were fabulous. I must give a shout out to the Breakfast Bar Attendant Elizabeth. She was the most dedicated person we have ever seen at a Hotel breakfast bar. She gave us a big" Hello "every morning, and made sure that she took care of our every want. The Breakfast included hot biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, omeletts, bacon, sausage, pastries, cereal, hot coffee and juice. We also enjoyed the newspaper at our door every morning.
