The food is ok and the service was ok. Not a lot to write about because I wasn't impressed but it wasn't bad either. The chips and salsa were really good and we didn't have to wait. It was our second time going there.

We visit the Payson area twice a month during the hot summer months and have eaten at El Rancho on several occasions. The service has always been great and the food has always been average tasting to very tasty! My wife usually orders fish or shrimp taco's and I have ordered shrimp/beef fajita's, beef or chicken burrito's OR cheese Enchilada's. The Con Queso appetizer is very good, especially once you add some of there extra spicy salsa (must ask for the extra spicy salsa). The Gold Marquerite's are very good! El Rancho has specials on certain nights that offer a nice discount on the special.

Salsa very good but needs more cilantro and the secret ingredient that used to be in Carlos O'Briens, which is the all time best salsa ever. Beautiful ambience with updated festiveness. Wait staff was very good and attentive. Enchiladas were real decent. The beans were dried out and flat. The rice was ok. Big mistake on ordering the sopapilla; it was hard and crusty and just terrible. She had them remake it and not much better the second time, it was even uncooked in the middle.

Road trip to Payson on a Saturday. Came to this restaurant because of reviews and noticed a full parking lot driving by. Ordered a Taco salad that was awesome and as big as a ball. My husband had a tamale and green chili burrito and a taco he side were good but average compared to other Mexican restaurant's. The three plates came in hot and practically took over the table. The food was delicious including the salsa yet the rice was spicy and a bit dry. We did notice they serve FRY Bread but didn't get to try maybe next time sure smelled great.

the food is amazing and you need to bring your appetite for they do not splurge on amount you receive. Service was wonderful and friendly. We will be visiting again anytime we are in Payson for sure. Prices are as good as the food. Yum Yum Yum
