First the golf: spectacular. I was worries about the comments prior to playing today and I have to believe that many of the comments on the greens are from higher handicap players. It's true these greens are fast, but they are in excellent shape. Yes, they have a lot of brown ball mark repairs, but they do not impact the quality of the surface roll.

Every tee box provides excellent views and also wide and fair driving areas. Excellent fairways which can only be described as perfect!

The staff are excellent from the first encounter to your finish and departure.

One problem we had was the grill area after the 10th hole. We arrived hungry and ready to but burgers and beers, only to be told she sold her last four and did not have any ready! While we appreciate the fresh prep how you could not have burgers partially cooked ready to go on a bust Saturday is beyond me! We went and not our tee shots and came back to pick up burgers which we still needed to wait on. The group behind arrived and seemed upset at us, however, we told them we had hit already. The tab for the burgers and beers came to $60, so I am sure the revenue was appreciated. We would have forgotten about this if our cart GPS did not keep reminding us we were 8 minutes behind! Not our fault. And thereafter the Marshall visited to provide us "brownie bites from the kitchen" (nice touch!) and tell us we are 8 minutes behind! He drove off before we could explain.

So overall, great golf but some minor things need attention.

I've played Quintero every year for the past 4 years and still think it's one of the best courses in the Phoenix area. The views are terrific and the course is in great shape. Will be back next year.

Beautiful course and in excellent shape, except for the greens. Because of the elevation changes, many of the greens are uphill and elevated. so you need to get the ball up in the air so that it checks on the green. Unfortunately the greens were rock hard and they were not able to hold a shot no matter how good the shot was. they are clearly not watering the greens to save on maintenance costs. Very aggravating and caused us to cross this off our list for future golf trips

Nestled between Carefree/Cave Creek and Wickenburg, it is a bit of a drive from anywhere in Scottsdale or Phoenix. Just the cart drive from dropping off your bag to the driving range, then the first tee box, is at least five minutes, so arrive early. This is a very challenging course; originally intended as private but now public. Carts have amazing GPS system so you can leave all the yardage gadgets behind. Gorgeous views. A few really elevated tee boxes. Pace was spot on.

Even though this course is a bit of a drive out of the Phoenix/Scottsdale you must play it. The best set of par 3's you will play anywhere in the world and the fairways, rough, and bunkers were pristine. My only complaint were the greens. If I could give the course 4.5 stars I would because the greens were chewed up and not in great shape. Having said that it is still a must play!
