“Exceptional Golf”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

Quintero provides a unique and exceptional golf experience. Reese Jones design will not disappoint. Very good practice facility. Lush fairways and greens blend seamlessly into the desertscape. Each hole is highly challenging, but fair with good views of the shots you'll need to make. They make very good use of natural elevations, which provide stunning views and excellent tee shots. The greens are hard and fast, and everything is well maintained and managed. The staff is friendly and responsive. Bring extra balls and invest in a yardage guide book. You may shoot higher than normal, but you will have lots of fun. Clubhouse and pro shop are minimal, but you are there to golf. Good food and service on the course, and in a small bar area at the clubhouse. Well worth the trip!

“Beautiful setting,but.........”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

Quintero is a gorgeous golf course , a long drive from Scottsdale and isn't cheap, I was there last week with a group of golfers and of the 8 tracks we played this one had the worst greens and the bunkers were awful , the greens appeared ball marked and unkept , the sand traps appeared raked but only on the surface, an inch below was hard packed and gravel.
There are too many nice courses in the Phoenix area , I won't be going back .

“Mixed review”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

In spite of my "average" rating, there is nothing average about it. The course design is fantastic,, and overall course maintenance very good - except for the incredibly ball-marked greens, which are very fast, but inconsistent. Mostly hard and super fast until you hit a putt that isn't. The course is very difficult, and in some areas punitive for the average golfer who can't hit a target every time. Super scenic, with outstanding vertical relief, and a great layout.

That said, I will not return. It is expensive and hard to get to. The golf carts have governors that keep them super slow, even on the half mile trek up the road to the number 1. They also have GPS technology which locks them down if you venture where you are not supposed to go. On hole 2, ours screwed up and we had a dead cart in the fairway. It took the marshall more than five minutes to help get it going again, and then he was stuck to us like glue for three holes, annoyingly pushing us to speed up. When I complained, he backed off, and within two holes we were waiting on the tee box. But I have never been pestered that much by an over zealous marshall. Reading these reviews, I can see why, as play is not the fastest. However, the course is difficult, the carts go slow at all times, and if you charge almost $200 for a round of golf from visiting first time golfers without providing a map of the course, you probably should expect that.

No clubhouse yet, so we drove about 20 miles for a beer in a decent setting after the golf. Phoenix has a lot of golf courses. You should be a dedicated, low handicap golfer, interested in a new experience, to take this one on.

“Great course”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

One of the most beautiful and manicured courses in Arizona. A little pricey but worth it! It was a little bit of a drive to get there (35 min from central Phx) but worth it to feel like it's away from the city.
