I came by here in the morning to try to beat the August heat and briefly check it out. (Military get in free!) I actually got a bit confused and lost around the garden because the signs regarding construction and closures weren't all that clear in my opinion, so I thought it was much smaller than it was, but thoroughly enjoyed the butterfly garden, pollinator garden, and native plant garden. I came back in the evening with my mother after she got off work and wandered around a bit more, finding the rest (MOST!) of the gardens, and I was amazed at how large an area it is! I also highly recommend the flashlight tour when they are offered, as the gardens are open later, it is included in your admission, you can catch the gorgeous sunset, and there are fun critters to see and learn about :) The gift shop is worth a stop, too, though a little expensive, as expected.

This is a really nice place to spend a few hours! There is lots of things to see, cool glass sculptures, huge cactus, prettt flowers, and my favorite part.... The butterfly exhibit, this is definitely worth the extra $5 I believe they charge. You have butterflies flying everywhere you look! It's a good place to take nice pictures. Also dont forget to bring your student or teacher ID, since those two will get you a discount! REMEMBER TO BRING LOTS OF WATER!!! It's very hot, and there is little shade places so make sure you bring lots of water to stay hydrated. Also keep a look out for SNAKES!!! We saw a few while we were there.

I always enjoy a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden. Whether it is for a plant class, music in the night, plant sale, or just a stroll. The plant sale gets you many different varieties of plants you may not find in the nurseries. Bring your sunblock.

The Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix is a world class facility with cacti and succulents from all over the world displayed in a beautiful desert setting despite the proximity to Phoenix downtown. There are many events to enjoy throughout the year, concerts, wine tastings, beer festivals. The event to not miss is Los Noches de Luminarias.

This really is a must for anyone visiting Phoenix/Scottsdale on a leisure trip. It really has many different areas that you can spend many hopurs walking around if you want to. There are also many events that they organize and have been to a few. If you can take a least 2-3 hours here. There are some great photogenic spots as well throughout the gardens.
The best that they do is at the Christmas, "The Botanical Lights", this really is a great evening and has bands, bell ringing and other activities.
