This was a very nice place to visit! You get amazing views of the city if you go all the way to the top of the mountain. It's very nice and quiet, you could probably have a nice picnic there. There is not much to do, other than sit and enjoy the view! Also keep in mind that they do have bathroom, but they were EXTREMELY dirty!

We visited South Mountain Park as part of a day tour. The view was amazing. The only criticism I have is I believe they should have a restroom at the top. When we visited there were 2 outhouses- but with the extreme heat they were not pleasant to use.

The park itself is gorgeous and I would have really enjoyed it, if it wasn't for all the people. There were way too many to enjoy it. If it would have been just hikers, maybe it wouldn't have been that bad. But there were some shady people hanging around at parking lots, hanging around and drinking. That results in lots of trash, bottles and beer cans everywhere. So annoying that the beautiful desert is trashed like this. I wish these people would leave these beautiful parks for those who appreciate nature. (Just to give an example, when we started our hike, there were some people hanging around drinking beer, the women were dressed in tight panther skirts and stripper heels.)

Had sometime in an afternoon to kill so I decided to drive to South Mountain Park and was very surprised. Didn't know what to expect from the view but was impressed of the view and scenes of the Valley. Took the drive all the way to the top and went to tv antenna side to see the south side of the mountain. Only issue is all the bikes that use the road because of the traffic and sometimes because of turns you can't see them coming. Other than that a quick scenic trip.

Many hiking & biking trails. Also, the drive up to the lookout is spectacular! If you hike go early and be done before the heat of the day. Bring lots of water and a hiking buddy
