Embassy Suites by Hilton Hotel Phoenix Biltmore

This is a beautiful property, in a great location. It has a lovely atrium, great complimentary breakfast, free happy hour, and nice rooms. But...can you believe??? -- THEY CHARGE FOR WIFI. This very basic component of any contemporary hotel stay is not provided free, even in the lobby. They charge you $14 per day to connect to their network (which is a very slow one at that). This is insane. Even most $40/night flophouse motels now give free wifi, not to mention McDonalds and Starbucks. Also, I've stayed at many other Hilton properties and have never had a charge for WiFi. What are these people thinking????

Next bad surprise -- they charge $7/day for parking. Hey -- this is not a big city hotel smack in the middle of the central business district. This is in an outlying shopping/business area, about 7 miles from downtown Phoenix, across the street from a shopping mall. When I book at a "suites" type of property, I am thinking "upscale motel". I'm looking for comfort and convenience. Pay-to-park does not fit with my idea of convenience -- does it with yours?

If the owners of this property (Hilton I assume) need to get a certain amount of revenue to support the business, then they should set their rates appropriately rather than hit their guests with all of these extra charges for services which should be included in the basic package.

I've been staying at this hotel consistently for the past 3 years and although I have free choice to stay at other Hilton or Marriott properties as well as several of the resorts in the area I choose to stay here because the staff has always been accommodating to special needs that arise during my frequent trips. Having the Omaha Steakhouse steps away from the rooms is just an added bonus for those that visit Phoenix for business purposes. The breakfast crew is outstanding. I prefer Embassy Suites when I do travel and this breakfast crew does the best job and prepares some of the better quality food of other hotels within this chain.

We hosted our annual meeting at this property. The hotel was beautiful and had great amenities with the size of the room and Manager's cocktail reception. The staff were all excellent and very accommodating to our requests and assisting our members (and remembered our names). They helped us find great restaurants in the area. All of the food for our meeting was great. Hotel rooms were very clean. It was great to see the cleaning staff remove all glasses and bed linens for the next guests. If you like quiet when you are sleeping, I recommend you request a room that is not poolside, as the pool is open late.

For our purposes to visit Arizona State University we were very well located. Embassy suites will put you in a position to go anywhere in Phoenix. It's location by a mall gave us a lot of choices for dining, especially the Cheesecake Factory which I love. It's also 10 minutes drive to Scottsdale Fashion mall. The carpets were a little worn because of the swimming pool use. But rooms were nice and spacious being suites. Mostly business clientelle here. The restaurant, Omaha Steaks, located in the hotel arranged a dinner for 20 people very quickly. With only one server they did a great job.

We joined my husband on a business trip. We were able to get around to the Fashion Plaza by walking, there are some nice shops & dining choices. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning. The kids enjoyed the heated pool. We like having the extra TV room to play & stretch out in. The place was clean and updated. The kids loved the koi ponds. The property was well maintained. I didn't use the work out room but it did look nice. I was surprised that just around the corner from the Biltmore area is such a run down neighborhood. The traffic was heavy because of a lot of street repairs.

We used the Embassy Suites Phoenix Biltmore for our Oct/2010 Family Reunion. The accommodations were wonderful and all rooms are suites in this hotel. The lobby is a beautiful place to meet and hang out. The "cooked-to-order" complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious. Three generations enjoyed the large heated pool and hot tub. During the evening the hotel serves complimentary beverages and snacks in their lobby and our family enjoyed the time to visit and also took advantage of the large screen tvs since it was football season. The hotel is in a beautiful and established part of Phoenix and is close to shopping and attractions. The group sales manager, Ms. Salinas, was happy to provide us with an extensive list of area attractions. Our family throughly enjoyed our stay.

I had a great stay at this Embassy Suites. Typical Embassy Suites layout with atrium in the center and spacious rooms, but seemed to be a step up from your typical Embassy Suites. This hotel really makes you feel at home. Perfect place for family vacations or large groups. Staff is very attentive and polite. A/C unit in the room is a little noisy but nothing you can't get use to. medium sized fridge and small microwave as well as a kitchen sink. Free breakfast in the morning that is actually very good! Small but modern and clean workout room. Location is great with an outdoor mall next door. I had a very nice stay here and would definitely come back.
