“Good place for your home away from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

The Sheraton is located very close to the convention center, and is walking distance from many little shops, restaurants, and places just to visit. The room I had was clean, and service is excellent. The gym is good, as is the pool. I had no worries whatsoever at this place. Overall I would come back without hesitation to this place.

Just checked in yesterday. Comparing it to other Sheratons I've stayed at, this one is very nice, both the lobby area and my room. Unfortunately, couldn't get upgraded to Club level, but my room was upgraded with a small fridge and great view of Phoenix. Haven't tried the restaurants yet, will do that later. Easy walking distance to other restaurants as well. One of the features I really like at all the Sheratons is the tasty Starbucks coffee I can make in the mornings.

Welcome and we hope you are still enjoying your stay!

We are confident that you will enjoy the menu selection at our restaurant as we have a wonderful culinary team here - creative and passionate about what is served - we are fortunate to have such a great team. There is an herb garden on our 4th floor and many of the herbs and vegetables from the garden are incorporated into the dishes served in the restaurant.

Enjoy the stay, enjoy the City, we are happy to have you with us!

Warm Regards,

Being here on Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving morning, the place is, undertandably, calm and fairly quiet. Can't imagine it's always this way during regular business days and especially when there's a convention in town. It worked for us, though. We loved the peace.
Hotel is fine. Well appointed. Excellent service.

Pros: Very close to shopping, food, movies, and convention center. Walking is the best mode of transportation.

Room is not large, but well appointed, including coffee maker, microwave, flat screen tv on wall.

Lobby is spacious with many seating options and a bar within easy access.

Employees were cheery and helpful - even on Thanksgiving morning.

Long lap pool and a nearby jacuzzi on 4th floor. Wasn't busy. Fitness center next to pool.

Cons: $17 parking fee

While there is free wireless internet connection in lobby (and available computers as well), there is a fee to get wireless in room.

Wish hotel managers would stop with the water bottles in rooms. There was one regular size "complimentary" bottle and one larger bottle for $4. Either give it to us for free or give us credit and know that if we truly need a larger bottle of water, we will go to the gift shop and overspend for it there. Certainly this is not the only hotel to use this ploy, it's just something that has always bugged me.

Also, while it is my choice, I wish they wouldn't offer new movies in the room that cost $16! Save your money and walk across the street to the AMC 21, and see a current movie.

Anyhow, though I have noted the cons, overall this is a worthy hotel and one I would stay at again. We were fortunate to get a great deal on Priceline ($75). I think their regular online price is twice that. I guess it had to do with the holiday and empty downtown area. Good timing for us!

Another note: We were impressed with this part of Downtown Phoenix. Lovely and well designed. Easy to get around on foot. Plenty of restaurants and not far to major spots such as the convention center, theater, and sporting events (about 6-8 blocks).

Room Tip: 31 floors. We were on floor 14. Pool/spa/fitness center on 4th floor. Our floor was fine. No noi...

We always love hearing both the pros AND the cons and thank you for the feedback. It is very important to us as customer care is among our highest priorities.

We’re happy to know that you found so much to your liking in the way of hotel amenities and that you were impressed with the downtown area in general.

We hope you will return to enjoy even more of our beautiful hotel and the surrounding area. Thank you so much for your business and your feedback – both mean a lot to us.

Recently stayed at Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel for a conference. I have to say the lobby area was impressive. Check in was easy for myself, but I noticed it was taking longer than usually for some other folks checking.

I was fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite on the club level and the room was very nice - a sitting area with a half bathroom and then the bedroom area. Standard Sheraton room, but clean and seemed new. The club room was very nice - the staff in there were always very pleasant and the breakfast spread was VERY nice. Stopped by one evening and they had a nice cheese / veggie spread.

The meeting space was spacious and impressive. However, as my company's meeting planner I was disappointed in convention services and food that was served at the meeting. I am pretty easy when it comes to food, and I have to say I went to the club for breakfast to avoid it at the meeting breakfast (luke warm eggs and the fruit salad looked like it was about 3 - 4 days old). Lunch, skip the meeting food and just go to the onsite restaurant or the Corner Bakery across the street.

Location was good - could walk to some really great restaurants (Hanny's, Arrogant Butcher). The baseball and basketball stadiums are also within walking distance. I have to say there wasn't much to do in downtown Phoenix, unless you wanted to walk through the ASU campus or catch a movie across the street. I tried to find the Roosevelt Row Arts District but I was getting soaked walking around and gave up.

Over all OK stay, nothing spectacular nothing horrible. If in town for business in the future, would stay here again.

We are sorry to hear that the food served at your conference was less than satisfactory to you, especially because it sounds as if the rest of your stay was a good one.

We do love our location and were glad that you found it so convenient as well; Phoenix is a great walking city. Our great Concierge desk can always point you to some activities and events you might enjoy here in the downtown area.

We hope you will choose us again when you find yourself back in the Valley of the Sun, we would look forward to have another opportunity to be of service.

Warm Regards,

Safety is super important from the moment you arrive on the property. There is a bouncer in the lobby. With all the walls desks seating it is easy to get lost in the lobby. There are 2 different elevator banks based on you room floor. Nice elevator security the front desk missed explaining it to me and other guests were as clueless as me. Security needed to get into fitness room very large with weight machines, yoga balls, foam rolls and other training equipment. Water, TVs, newspapers all available to have a great workout. The room clean no musty smell, safe, fridge, iron, coffee maker, chairs, desk, Ottoman, free water & pay for water. Nice gift shop for drinks light snacks healthy options too. Staff in gift shop friendly several new staff members in lobby. TV channel selection is worse than most hotels. Pricy pay per day wifi in the room. Free wifi would be the right thing to do. Free wifi in the lobby with a nice work area. There is someone there during prime time to help print boarding passes. Green option for cleaning the room. You received a $5 discount every day you did not have your room cleaned. You could request clean towels and other items at anytime. The Green coupon is used in the restaurants. The bell hops are friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Take the green option for a $5 savings in the restaurants.

I stayed here a couple of days for a recent conference. The room was lovely, the usual for a Sheraton. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I love that you could adjust to temperature in the room to make it as cold as you want. Sometimes, with the comforters, you can't get the room cold enough.

However, the food provided for the conference was outstanding. At the reception they had lamb chops, wrapped shrimp, butternut squash ravioli , etc. Everything was amazing. Kudos to your team.

The staff at this hotel was excellent. The concierge was very helpful and everyone we spoke with went out of their way to help us and to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We arrived a bit early, but were given a room right away. The room service was very good. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is clean and beautiful
