“A+ hotel just doing the basics.”
Reviewed 17 January 2011

This place knows what to do to keep your hotel stay stress free. It's the little things that count and they have them covered. For example, the dining area is spaciously laid out so that you never feel crowded or awkward. The breakfast offerings are a cut above and your service is as good as any upscale hotel. Better, even. I have never felt more welcome at the front desk than here, as a minor issue came up and was handled very smoothly with no problems afterward. The rooms have absolutely no smell and are conspicuously clean after each daily treatment.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for the BCS Championship game. Everything at the hotel was great. The facilities are spotless and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It was very convenient to the airport (but no airport noise) and took us only 15 minutes to get to and from the airport during rush hour time. It was very accessible to roads and we could easily get to Scottsdale and Glendale for all of the game activities. The only negative was there wasn't much around the hotel, but it wasn't really a negative for us because we spent most of our time in other parts of the city. But, it was conveniently located for all of our activities.

The BCS Championship game was a most exciting time here in Phoenix, and we are pleased that you chose to stay at our hotel during your time here in town. We were very happy to read that you enjoyed the accommodations and found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the hotel location convenient. Our ideal location provides easy access to Scottsdale, Glendale, Tempe and downtown Phoenix, we are also only one block north of a Light Rail stop- passes are sold at the front desk for your convenience.

We hope to be your hotel of choice when your travels bring you back to the Phoenix area.

We found everything to exceed our expectations, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was superb.
Loved being close to relatives and the airport, and grateful for the shuttle service.

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip. They have an airport shuttle which did pick me up late at night and return me to the airport early in the morning. I thought the breakfast was pretty good, though not the best I've had at an HGI property. I thought the chef did a nice job making some entrees, but the other hot options didn't taste the best. There were plenty of places to sit in the restaurant which is better than some HGI properties with restaurants. The area around the hotel is not the best, but not awful. I ate at a nearby barbecue place called Big Apple. The food was pretty good, but the service was really slow. There's not much around the hotel besides the restaurant mentioned above, but there is a light rail stop nearby. I had a couple of issues during my stay, such as the TV losing its signal, but the staff quickly went to work. They did offer some benefits to Hilton Honors Gold members that were nice. The business center was helpful.

Once you get inside this hotel, you "feel" safe regarding the surrounding area! The staff makes you feel welcome and the rooms have a new feel to them. The only problems we encountered was that one of the rooms had a toilet that wouldn't stop running water once you flushed it and the shower had no shower curtain! We called the front desk and they sent someone to fix the problems within a decent amount of time.

If you have to stay near the airport, then this hotel will probably do the job just fine. If you need to eat at nearby restaurants - there aren't any. There is a hotel restaurant, but we didn't try it.

I had picked this hotel to stay after a late-ish arrival at PHX the day before our American Southwest Roadtrip, mainly on the reviews here. However, the reviews on Tripadvisor do not do it justice. This hotel is truly a little gem in a huge city such as Phoenix.

The impressive service started at the airport where our shuttle driver offered us cold water from a cooler. It went down very well considering we had arrived in the early evening and temps were still hovering around 100F. On arrival, the evening desk clerk was extremely welcoming and friendly, even throwing in a free breakfast buffet when we asked. Warm freshly-baked cookies were also offered as well.

The room was a decent size, and nicely decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. The only downside is when we arrived to our room, there were dirty dishes and trays from breakfast on the hallway floor right at our door. When we mentioned it to the clerk, they were taken away promptly with apologies.

Location-wise, it is in a deserted area maybe bordering on seedy. However, it is very safe walking around the area, albeit a bit deserted. Other reviewers noted there is an In and Out Burger "right across the street" when in reality, it is 5 miles away. There is really nothing nearby food-wise within walking distance, except for a Bill Johnson's Big Apple a short walk away, which offers decent diner food with good service. We didn't try the hotel restaurant other than the buffet breakfast in the morning. The breakfast is excellent with great choices and the hotel serves one of the best omelets we've ever had, hands down.

From check-in to check-out, the staff at this hotel can't do enough for you, always smiling, pleasant and professional. In reality if Phoenix were our destination we would probably choose a more central hotel, but for arriving at the airport to go to other destinations this is absolutely going to be our go-to place to stay. Kudos to the management and staff for such a great accommodation.

Clean, nice, comfortable, spacious rooms. Good bathrooms as well. The area is close by to the airport, however, it does look sketchy nearby. I'd recommend for a good, decently priced hotel near the airport. Free wifi.
