“Great place for a travelor on a budget”
Reviewed 15 May 2010

stayed 3 nights to attend 3 baseball games at chase field. Was about a 10 minute walk to the stadium, room was spacious,CLEAN, no bugs. Had a microwave, refrigerator and tv. Hotel is kept up good and if you get hungry theres a mickey d's right down the street. Also close to the arizona center for food/movies.10 minute drive to phoenix zoo so def. plenty to do. Neighbor hood is fine, at first looks kinda shady but it really isnt. Nice hotel staff, gave us water after we walked back from a game so that was nice. I would def. recommend this hotel, no reason to stay downtown and pay 200 a night when u can get a better deal at this place.

The Budget Lodge Downtown in Phoenix, AZ is indeed a very nice, clean and economical place to stay at. I would go there again any time without hesitation.
The W-Lan is remarkably fast. The bed is hard enough to get some good sleep!

The breakfast offered leaves room for improvement. This, however, would not keep me from going there again.

Very very simple and basic. Right across the street from busy fire station. Seedy part of town. Breakfast was a box of donuts and coffee. Bed was very very firm and pillows had seen better days. Next stay will pay more to get more.

This hotel is great value, rooms are clean and well kept but very basic (no clock) and may not be for everyone. Staff were helpful, breakfast VERY basic (coffee, Tang, some fruit, donoughts), area around hotel is a bit seedy but I felt safe. Nearby MoDonalds, and several nice restaurants within walking distance. Also easily walked Chase field for a night game.
I'd stay again but it is not for everyone.

The room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean; Better than most rooms in hotels we've stayed in that were part of hotel chains. The location was very convenient in that it was within 10 minutes walking distance of the Phoenix Convention Center. We felt safe as we stayed here and walked.

Coffee and Donuts, & fruit were excellent in the am.

Dan and his staff were gracious and accommodating. They gave us a safe place to keep our belongings when our business mtgs. lasted longer in the day and we had a later flight. Thank-You Dan for your fine hospitality!

I booked my room based on the reviews and was amazed when I got there. The whole place looked new. Must have been a total remodel of the motel to make it so nice. Rooms were large enough, microwave, refrigerator and wireless internet.
Host Dan was fully versed in the area and was able to give me turn by turn directions so that I could find a men's store to buy a tie. This was even though the store was new in the downtown area. However, be advised that Phoenix is NOT the place to look for stores within the city center.
The city center is mostly the university and banks/offices. Very quiet downtown - they must roll the streets up after 6 PM.
