“OK, but Not Very Intimate”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

For performances there, the stage, seats and ambiance are fine, but the setting is not very intimate, thus distracting from some performers that want to be close to the audience.

“For someone that gets bored easily...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

This was by far the BEST fun I have ever had in a museum! I mean, there's a room where you can actually play some of these unique instruments! The exhibit with all of the music from different parts of the globe was amazingly insightful, educational and engaging. When one can't stand to look at paintings and sculptures for hours, this is truly the place to go.

Unusual and exciting museum venue with interactive sites to keep even the most non-museum participant involved. Very informative and entertaining. Would recommend for all ages for those with any interest in history and music

“A Highlight in Phoenix”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014 via mobile

We visited here and definitely found something for everyone. My kids really enjoyed the hands-on area where they could try out unique instruments. The workers here were very nice and helpful. The division of instruments by continent made for an interesting walk through the history and development of music. The head phones provided make the experience even better. You are able to walk through and hear the different instruments without the disturbance of other background noises. This museum was one of the highlights in Phoenix for us.

“Best museum ever?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

Maybe we're musically inclined but this was likely the best museum I've ever enjoyed (move over, Louvre!). The collection is overwhelming, the organization systematic (if limited by geography), the building modern, and the experience very engaging. The headphones worked flawlessly, making this more of a listening than a looking affair. If you're Anglo like us, START in the U.S./Europe areas and go the direction OPPOSITE we were instructed - your mind will be blown before you reach South Asia. Save the hands-on room (or the piano in the lobby!) for an expressive finale! Pick and choose - you'll never see/hear it all in one trip.
