My son and I stayed at the Westin prior to taking a tour of the Arizona State University Downtown campus. It's very conveniently located across the street, which is great considering it was over 100 degrees in the shade. The hotel itself is very nice and definitely upscale in feel and appearance. All of the hotel staff we came in contact with were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Deaon Sanders, the front desk clerk who checked us in. Kudos for representing Westin in such a positive light.
My only gripes are the fact that parking is valet only (and $28, which seems a bit steep to me for Phoenix), and they charge for hotel WiFi. I realize it's a business hotel, but really? Even budget hotels offer free WiFi these days. Obviously not a deal breaker, but does feel like they're trying to nickel and dime.
Either way, if you're looking for a nice, upscale and well-appointed hotel conveniently located in downtown Phoenix, you can't go wrong with the Westin.More
