“Not much here”

Chinese Cultural Center
Reviewed 19 January 2012

This is designed for the Chinese community, not for the tourist or Anglo shopper. It is owned by the PRC, so that's a turnoff.

This is as authentic as it gets here in the valley, even the construction was done with Chinese style bamboo scaffolding! (which caused the County construction inspectors no end of heartburn!). My quick summary - The supermarket is great, complete with live fish and if you want a sit down meal I can also recommend the Golden Buddha (see my review on it). On Chinese New Year they have a dragon dance too and other cultural events.

Phoenix has some good Asian Culture including this area for food and shopping. This area at 44th and Van Buren has a great Supermarket, and an excellent shop for Chinese Herbal Medicine. And the center is owned by China.

Some nice restaurants. Go see the koi pond out front. But do not miss the entire supermarket. Live fish stalls. Far out veggies choices. hanging cooked ducks and delicous deli counter along with bonsai trees, rice cooking, tea cooking things for sale. Love this place.
