My husband and I love it here; we've stayed here 3 or 4 times. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. I love the location - so close to Desert Ridge Marketplace. We usually breakfast in the room and cook dinner only once or twice. There are so many fabulous dinner options close by; they're hard to resist. Perfect location!

5 Families(10 adults + 7 kids all less than 7 yrs old) stayed here for a week and had a fantastic time. The 2 bedrooms villas worked out great for sharing with 2 families in each. We were in the 2400 Building and used the Courtyard everyday for either a lunch or dinner cookout. Grills and fire pits right there. Went to the J. W. Marriott twice for the lazy river and once for their happy hour.
The shuttle to the mall made a dinner trip there easy, with no worries about the drive home.
Plenty of activities for the kids as well as the adults.
Plan on returning.

Room Tip: We like the quietness of the 2400 Building.

This place is awesome!! I rented here 5 times & will be returning in September. The staff is great, location unbelievable, & the accommodations are super! There's 3 pools on the property, a great play place for kids, a half. I've down the road from the best shopping/eating in the area: Desert Ridge Marketplace. The Musical Instrument Museum is very close. Haven't been there yet, but I hear is wonderful. If you stay here at the Villas, you can enjoy all the amenities of the JW Marriott which is across the roundabout. I've been to their spa 3 times! Do yourself a favor & book a stay here. Everything is close, even the freeway.

My husband and I are Marriott timeshare owners. This was our first stay at Canyon Villas and this property did not disappoint. We stayed with an adult son for a week in early May and enjoyed every minute. We had a 2 bedroom villa on the second floor of building 2400 overlooking the golf course. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable although it could use a bit of updating which the resort will be starting this July. The master bedroom shower was large with good water pressure. The kitchen faucet of this unit was not a grade A fixture although it worked okay. I'd say the same for the dishwasher which will be replaced in the upgrade. The microwave, refrig, stove, and washer/dryer were fine. All the beds and linen were terrific providing a wonderful night's sleep. The air conditioning worked great. We enjoyed morning coffee and an evening glass of wine on the balcony.

The resort landscaping is very attractive and it offers a lot of covered parking. We especially liked the Quiet Pool which was warmer than the main pools. This is a place for just relaxing in the water, not swimming. The main pool area offers volley ball and basketball along with a cascading waterfall. There's a second smaller pool good for lap swimming and 2 large hot tubs along with a kiddy pool. At night firepits beckon guests to sit and enjoy the courtyard areas. We didn't use the barbeques but they appear quite popular and get a lot of use.

A great resort feature is the shuttle bus which runs between Canyon Villas and the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge every half hour, 7AM to 10PM. We are water people and used the Lazy River and wonderful pools at the JW Hotel several times. Happy hour at Roy's was great as were the snacks and drinks we ordered from the JW pool bar.

At Canyon Villas we joined in the wine and cheese tasting and also signed up for the salsa making class. One large jar of salsa even traveled home with us in our checked luggage. Both activities were well organized and enjoyable. If you're looking for unusual, fun dinner places try Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa and Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek. Neither are fancy but both provide an enjoyable evening out and are easy to get to by car. Buffalo Creek has bull riding on Wednesday and Friday nights. For breakfast or lunch try Perk Eatery. Its been featured on the Food Channel's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

This was a wonderful vacation with great accommodations. We will certainly return for another stay at Marriott's Canyon Villas.

Room Tip: The Canyon Villa buildings near the main pool area offer little privacy as they are very close to th...

We are owners but have not been here for a few years. We checked in around 5pm on a Sunday. The front desk staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful, especially Amanda. We had a 3rd floor, golf course view, 2 bedroom, building 2300. This is not a lockoff unit which we wanted since some friends were joining us but it was fine.

We walked in to find some problems:

Where the wall fountain used to be was just a blank space.
There was dried blood and grease on the duvet.
Over the tub in the bathroom, some pictures and fallen and the frames had broken.
We had a corner unit. Over the tub were 3 small windows with no shade. Since there is no door
to this part of the bathroom, those windows would let in a ton of light in the morning.
As I mentioned in a previous review, the bright blinking light on the smoke detector in the
master bedroom was still there.
There is no pantry or any unused kitchen cabinet in which to store groceries. Actually there is
one over the refrigerator but I couldn't reach it.

Manager Tyson was very apologetic and took care of most of our problems also giving us a resort credit. He put cardboard to block the light in front of each of the three windows in the bathroom. The bed linens were replaced. The picture frames were repaired .I stood on a chair and put black tape, which I had brought, over the blinking lights.

These units are all going to be redone starting in July. After looking at the new design, I did notice one problem. The beds are all going to be platform beds which means that luggage cannot be stored under them. When this was mentioned the the front desk, they said that luggage could be stored in the closet. Well, that closet isn't that big. Personally, the platform bed may look great from a design standpoint but I don't think it's practical here.

The current bed was really comfortable. The drapes did close all the way but there was a lot of light coming from the top in the morning. The grounds and public rooms were very clean and well maintained. The pool was very refreshing with no problem finding chairs or towels. Parking was also no problem.

What makes this place special is the people. Everyone who worked there smiled, said hello, and continually asked if there was anything they could do for us. That's what makes this place great.

We stayed at Marriott's Canyon Villas during April as part of a timeshare presentation package, brought 3 children and one mother in law to the resort. Had a two bedroom condo. Very, very pleased with our stay, the condo was spacious and clean with nice bathrooms and large living area. The grounds were beautiful, and we enjoyed some of the activities offered by the resort, such as s'mores and beer tasting. Helpful concierge, and the pool was nice and large enough for the children to enjoy. Spent one day at the adjoining JW resort to use the pools, had amazing drinks there- must try the house margarita and the frozen colada- wonderful! Attended the timeshare presentation with no intent of buying, the presenter was very patient and understanding about this, felt absolutely no pressure whatsoever. Probably will buy a resale, as this is the second Marriott VC we've stayed in (also in Orlando) and they were both fantastic. Highly recommend this resort, we would 100% stay here again.
The only negative I would give the resort is that while a two bedroom does sleep 6, one of the beds is a pull out couch which was less than comfortable.
