We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 2 nights, June 8-9, 2014, during Phoenix Comic Con. The Hyatt is adjacent to the Phoenix Convention Center, where the Con was held. The hotel was packed with convention attendees, many in costumes. It was a noisy, fun atmosphere, just what you would expect during this event.

The Hyatt staff was wonderful throughout our stay, from check-in to getting all of our stuff to the curb at check out. The hotel was very well staffed, even having 2-3 staffers at the elevators to keep traffic flowing smoothly. I expected to see some staff start to show signs of crankiness, but no, everyone stayed upbeat and seemed to enjoy working.

The hotel rooms themselves are dated but very clean, and the fitness center is large with plenty of equipment.

I have stayed here more than once as it is the main hotel for Phoenix Comicon, apart from the obvious mayhem when the 'circus comes to town' this is a great hotel to stay at, great rooms good location, and very helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel was clean and the room was large but incredibly dark. We had a view of a brick wall actually. The decor is very dated and a little garish in the lobby.

It would be an excellent location if you're attending a conference or a sporting event but there's not much else in the area. (To be fair, there doesn't seem to be much in downtown Phoenix in general) Sports bars seem to be the main dining option in the area.

The rooftop bar (which rotates so you can get a panoramic view of Phoenix) closes at 11 pm which seemed ridiculously early to me.

If you're not attending a conference, there are probably better hotel options in a more exciting part of town--although if you find the exciting part of Phoenix, please let me know.

I just returned from a two-day business trip, and had a very nice stay at the Hyatt Regency. The room was clean and well furnished. The sole oddity was the bed being on the short wall facing the window, which would only be an issue if you wanted to watch TV from bed. The staff was friendly and room service arrived with unusual speed (and was pretty tasty as well). The bed was comfortable and there was a nice work space.

There were only two negatives. The chair -- from which one might watch TV, or read -- was uncomfortable. And one of my pet peeves is hotels that charge for basic WiFi service. In this day and age, it ought to be part of the room charge.

I would, and porbably will, return here when business takes me again to Phoenix. But I would probably look elsewhere for a family visit, due to the WiFi issue.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on ahigher floor (above 10) facing the mountains.

Thank you for sharing your kind words about our friendly staff and convenient location. However, we are saddened to hear about your comments regarding the guest room and lack of comfortable seating during your stay. During your next stay with us, please do not hesitate to call down to the front desk and inform them of the situation as they will be happy to make sure a chair is delivered right away. We hope that you will be giving us another chance and returning to the Hyatt Regency Phoenix in the future!

Stayed here again about 18 months after the last visit. The hotel is well located and easy to get to. Parking garage nearby is only $12 a night--not bad for the area. The employees were competent, gracious and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, though not the pillows. They were mushy. The room was somewhat dark and dated--old style popcorn ceiling--and could use an upgrade. The only seating, other than the bed, was an uncomfortable office style chair. This is a great location for events at US Airways Center--just 3 blocks, an easy walk.
