“Great hotel, bad location.”
Reviewed 4 March 2012

The rooms are very spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. Beautiful hotel, but located in a less than desirable location. The breakfast buffet was pretty good for 11.95. The small store located in the hotel was hardly ever open, but if you request something at the front desk, they will open it for you.

First time to AZ with short time frame and very limited information about Phoenix so we stayed close to Heard Museum. If we had known about the Light Rail System we would have stayed downtown and taken the LRS to the Heard.

Pros: Close to Heard Museum, Pete Roth Thomas amenities, comfy bed and linens, fast coffee maker, friendly staff

Cons: Old hotel with tired outdated interior, very weird layout with closet in the bathroom (!), short telephone cord, remotes all needed batteries, not close to anything, gardening crew or some other very noisy service came through at 3 AM.

I like the hotel. Good central location. Parking is never good and there is always a charge.

This hotel has a great location close to all of the downtown attractions. With a restaurant, basic market, full bar and indoor pool it has all of the necessities without having to leave the premises. There are several places to eat nearby if you're looking to save a buck on dining. If you have trouble walking more than a block a free shuttle will take you to and pick you up from up to 2 miles away.

The rooms were larger than many of the 3 1/2 star hotels I stay at. They truly are suites with a living room and seperate bedroom. I found the bathrooms to be spacious as well. The living room has a business desk with plug in internet port (for a fee), refrigerator, microwave and a hide-a-bed couch allowing up to six people per room (with two double beds).

Service was very pleasant. Bar fees and food was a bit pricey.

Room Tip: Ask for a north facing room. South facing rooms are on a fairly busy street and in downtown Phoenix...

I travel with some regularity for work and one hotel is much like another to me. As long as it's clean and the staff are efficient, everything is great.

I don't really need a suite, but it is nice that the bedroom is situated away from the front door. I've stayed here a couple of times and found there was no hallway noise.

The room was clean. On my most recent trip the room I was given smelled like smoke (there was a smoking room two doors down). The staff was able to find me another room with no hassle.

Great bed. Lots of pillows. Spacious bathroom.

Stayed a second time for business and this is a great place for business. Large suite room with large bathroom. Two flat screens. Nice desk. Sink, fridge and microwave. Good breakfast buffet and comfortable seating areas. Large lobby with plenty of seating. Colleague had a room with a large conference table which worked out well for some meetings we had to hold. Very nice people at the front desk.

If you just need a homebase in Phoenix, this hotel will do nicely. Good size and comfortable suites. Excellent breakfast buffet. The light rail is right out front, but you should probably have a car, as there is very little around the hotel, and it's not the nicest area. Oh, and the layout of the parking garage is so strange, that it's worth mentioning here! But there was plenty of free parking for hotel guests.
