“A 5 star experience in a true dessert oasis”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

From the time we set foot in the property until we left we were treated in true 5 star comfort. The rooms, the service, the food, the amenities were off the top!

Room
Although we did not have a great view the furniture and room amenities were excellent and of great quality. Loved the soaking tub and the whole bathroom was excellent. The bedding was of top quality and the room were VERY CLEAN!! Get a room with a view and you wil be thoroughly satisfied.

Service
It was the best aspect of this hotel. SERVICE gets 7 stars if I could. The people were very attentive helpful but not intrusive at all. There was always some one to help us when we needed help. The bellmen were the best service providers. They were very very friendly, every one of them and had very helpful tips. if your driving around or need to find something in phoenix ask them first. Very well done and I hope you guys get paid well, cos you should for the service you provide. The front desk staff were nice as well, concierge was great and helpful, the pool staff were excellent and whipped up some great cocktails by the pool. House keeping were very detailed and excellent.

Property
Many many photo ops in the property itself. We drove around the scotsdale area to find a good photo op spot and guess what we realised it was in our hotel only the day we left, nevertheless was not too late :)

Food
The restaurants and bar serve excellent food. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

Two words for future guests. BOOK NOW! :)

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra for a room with a view or balcony overlooking courtyard. Great spot for evening bott...

Free ubiquitous WiFi, fantastic breakfast, dozens of spots to sit and work surrounded by this hotel's beautiful grounds... This hotel is my new favorite business hotel and I only wish my work brought me to Phoenix more often. Try the 4S bread, relax in the jacuzzi after a long meeting, or enjoy a nice stroll through the grounds. Great hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for patio. Beds are not firm. Temperature in my room tended to fluctuate greatly.

We stayed at the Royal Palms for 5 nights during Thanksgiving week and had a pleasurable escape. Our arrival was late in the evening; however, the hospitality was still roaring strong! Nolan at the front desk did an amazing job welcoming us to the resort and a bell man promptly showed us to our estate room. The grounds are well maintained, boasting botanical gardens, breathtaking walkways, and attention to detail. The view of Camelback Mountain is breathtaking and almost unrealistic.
The estate room itself was very well appointed. We had an estate suite with a queen sofa sleeper and a king bed. The room was perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was comparable to a spa. My only complaint is the lack of communication about the view on the website. We understood that our room would not have a terrace or mountain views, but we were not expecting our room to be overlooking trees and above the housekeeping cart loading area. We probably expected a garden view? Given where our room was, we did not have an issue with noise, which was surprising. Also, we were disturbed one morning when we awoke to a man cleaning our windows. He was eye level with our room! He scared us. Being on the second level, we were not expecting a random man to be on a latter cleaning our windows. We reported the issue to the front desk and they deducted around $100 from our bill. They took care of the issue, but such an unprofessional problem should not have happened at a resort of such prestige.
T-Cooks restaurant was one of the best dining experiences I have had. The food is remarkable. We ate there twice during our stay. From the appetizer course, to the entrees and the desert, every aspect of the order was well executed. The ribeye cap was tender and delicious, I highly recommend this dish. The wait staff did a great job taking care of us. Breakfast at T-Cooks is also great. Your breakfast is cooked to order! Try the lemon-ricotta flapjacks---delicious!
My only complaint at T-Cooks was one of the hostesses. She is a blonde, middle aged, heavy set woman. While she appeared nice on the surface, she had a fairly condescending demeanor that made us feel a bit uncomfortable. She seemed haughty and almost appeared to look down upon us at times.
The T-Cooks lounge is fantastic. The area is beautiful, offering comfortable couches and warm fireplaces. The ambiance is wonderful. From the bar menu to the drinks, all was perfect at the lounge. The lounge service was equally up to par! Try the burger with pork belly from the bar menu, you will not be disappointed!
The pool area was beautiful, and heated at a warm 84 to 85 degrees! The hot tub was great as well. The pool is open 24 hours a day, which not all hotels offers. I sometimes found myself heading to the hot tub for a 10pm soak. It was great! Robin at the Cabana Cafe by the pool was the most hospitable woman we have ever met. She always came sprinting with glasses of lemon water when we sat by the pool. She even engaged in conversation with us and made us feel at home. The food and drinks at the Cabana Cafe are above average for a pool area.
Alvadora Spa is fantastic. While this spa is not the best I have encountered, it comes in around #2 on my list. I had two treatments: a 50 minute hot stone massage and a 25 minute express facial. The spa personal are attentive and professional. The locker rooms (at least the male locker room) has a soaking tub and a eucalyptus infused steam room. The facilities are world class for sure. The waiting area is relaxing and prepares you well for your treatment. If anything, hot and cold tubs would be nice in the locker rooms, and even a sauna, but that is really picking.
Concierge was more than attentive. Prior to my arrival, I spoke to Lonni on the phone and she went above and beyond arranging Grand Canyon tours, car rentals, dining reservations, and airport transfers. Mona holds a special place in our hearts as well. She spent nearly 20 minutes mapping out the best routes to tour Scottsdale and Phoenix. Both ladies were fantastic!
Check-out was the worst part of our trip--we did not want to leave! Sandy did an amazing job checking us out and she even printed out our boarding passes. The Royal Palms is by far the second best hotel I have encountered in my travels. From the impeccable grounds, prime location, cleanliness, friendly staff, and luxury, the Royal Palms is certainly the place to stay when in the Phoenix area. We have already talked about another return! Next time we will book a designer casita. Bravo Royal Palms.......we will be back!

Room Tip: While we stayed in an estate room, we found ourselves wanting a view of Camelback Mountain. Book a V...

A superb hotel, close to the centre of Scottsdale. Quiet and lovely. Secluded courtyards and gardens. The rooms are clean with a large comfortable bed. The views from the terrace looking up to Camelback mountain are breath-taking. There is a no tipping policy which makes the stay less strenuous. The concierge staff of Mona and Loni are excellent. All of the staff knew our names and knew our requirements almost before we did! We stayed for 18 nights and it flew by. We would stay again without hesitation. There were many weddings and meetings at the hotel but because of the separated design nature of the property we did not know of on event happening unless we stood next to it!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Montecrista courtyard on the ground floor. Because most visitors to the hotel only...

Stayed two nights for a wedding. There is a "service fee" that covers tipping, unless you wish to tip extra, which is nice, but it does not include the restaurant. The rooms were clean and very nice, although not huge. The grounds are beautiful and you'd never know you were right next to a busy street in Phoenix. But - hairdryer was broken, had to call twice to get one. Waited 45 minutes (glad I wasn't in a rush.) The second call I offered to come down and pick one up, and they finally got the hint that I wasn't too happy. Bed was very comfortable. We had a ground floor room - great for the patio but not so great with someone above you...Wedding reception room was WAY too cold! I don't think we would go back here - better places with better pricing.

Room Tip: upper floor - absolutely!!

It is concerning to hear the issues you experienced during your recent stay with us, as this is not the level of service we expect from our staff. I want to assure you the issues regarding the hairdryer and the temperature of the reception room have been discussed with our team. I or the Guest Relations Manager, Jenna Goss, would love to discuss the issues at hand to ensure they do not happen again. Please feel free to call directly at 602-808-316. Thank you so much and I hope to speak with you soon.

This resort is quite the experience from when you get in. The complimentary valet takes care of your car, bags and escorts you to the registration and ultimately, your room. Very clean, large, comfortable bed. Property is large with numerous little rooms/villas/abodes....no neighbors and we had a nice sitting area outside. It is like a mansion with gardens. There were 3 weddings there when we arrived.
