Spent two wonderful nights in the resort with a large group of academic physicians. Service, food, and facilities were excellent. Spacious well-equipped room with every amenity. Many very experienced(and demanding) travelers in this group. Overwhelming sentiment to return there in 3 years when the meeting cycle calls for a location in the Southwest.

Did not arrive yet (1/7/2014) but surprised to receive an email from the Hotel prior to my arrival stating that on top of the $600/night room charge they plan on charging us $15/night to park our car!!!!! When will these places learn? Charge what you want to get for your rooms...stop this nickle and dime stuff. Just pisses people off.

We are truly sorry you felt this way. Our resort, along with many resorts in the area, is limited in the parking spaces available. We consistently notify our guests about the small parking fee at the time of booking. We hope that you were able to enjoy your time at our beautiful property.

This place is beautiful. We went for new years. Perfect. The employees are very friendly, the food is great, and the casita we had was very private. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Business or pleasure

What a great resort! The valet attendants are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and so well landscaped with orange, grapefruit, and palm trees.
The location of the hotel is great and the view of Camelback Mountain is outstanding. We also loved the spa, and enjoyed the steam room everyday.
However, we did not like our room too much. (estate suite) It lacked a view and a balcony, and we heard a bit of traffic noise.

The rooms were nice and service sharp, in room wine needs improvement as does the televisions and radio, outdated. The property is very nice and serene, the food at the restaurant while very good is not outstanding which is expected from a property such as this. If your looking for a couples getaway (where you want to focus on each other exclusively) in Scottsdale this is the place.

Thank you for sharing about your visit! We are thrilled that you enjoyed our luxurious guestrooms and experienced the outstanding service our associates provide on a daily basis. We are in the process of updating the in-room amenities as well as replacing the televisions with new, larger flat screen televisions in all of our guestrooms. We hope you enjoy these improvements on your next visit to Royal Palms!

First the Pros of the Property:

1) Service is great and everyone is really nice (especially front desk/concierge and wait staff/valets.)

2) T. Cooks is a good restaurant and the service was great and the breakfast food was good.

3) Grounds are beautiful.

4) Room was very quiet as promised.

Negatives:

1) Bed was probably the softest of any hotel bed I have stayed at in the US and it took me the 3 days to adjust.

2) Lighting (lack therof) in our room was atrocious. Literally could barely see yourself in the mirror in the bathroom.

3) Hole in the wall 4 x 4 that I guess is too vent any potential carbon monoxide but causes a drafty room and we had to barricade with a pillow.

4) Heating system temp is off by 3-4 degrees? We had it set at 71 degrees and woke up very cold...room had to be 67-68 degrees. Pushed up to 72-73 before it would kick on.

This was our first time at the resort. When we checked in, we were told we had been upgraded...to the Presidential Suite! Needless to say, we were in awe of our surroundings, which was an apartment with 3 private patios, living room with fire place and dining room, kitchen, bedroom with fire place and a large bathroom. It was very elegant! The property is lovely. You feel you are in a spanish hacienda. It is a very different feel from the Marriott at Camelback which gives you a feeling of being in a village. The Royal Palms is a more private atmosphere. We enjoyed both resorts very much.
