We stayed in a 2 bedroom casita which had a fantastic sun deck with lots of good quality furniture on it. My only complaint about the casitas is there is NO cutlery, crockery, etc. whatsoever. No corkscrew, no knives, no mugs, not even one plate. So although there's a nice big "kitchen" area there's no point. There was a fridge and a tiny microwave. Bring your own utensils (we even had to buy a plate to microwave stuff on). Come on Hilton, put some essentials in there for your guests to use! Other than that, the concept of having a house to stay in was wonderful. The casitas are a bit dated with dirty carpets but it is a holiday resort not a city center Hilton so it was fine for us.

The resort was really quiet and peaceful apart from the weekend when it became "party central" with lots of noise. We had 2 issues; a car alarm going off all night and someone blocking our car in, and the hotel security guard dealt with both problems very efficiently so we were impressed.

Some of the other reviews complain about not being able to take your own food and drinks into the pool area - personally I am fine with this policy because the last thing I want is groups of lads each taking 10 beers in and getting drunk, and families dropping their picnic food everywhere. Drinks and food were quite expensive ($8 to $12 for an alcoholic drink and $10 - $15 for food ... per person), so plan to eat before you enter is my recommendation.

The lazy river is great, as is the 18 hole mini golf course. The resort is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. It's definitely a family destination, plenty for kids of all sizes to do. I wouldn't go there without kids, I would feel out of place.

Overall ... we will be back.

Room Tip: The casitas are fantastic, well worth the extra money compared to a hotel room

Stayed here for 4 nights for a convention. The rooms are spacious, nice, and clean, but definitely in need of an update. The sheer on the patio door had a 12" rip in it. The 1st morning, I was almost 3/4 done with my shower before the water really got warm. (no problem the rest of the week) The convention facilities were adequate, as was the food service for our events. The AV department was challenged and had trouble getting a simple setup working properly. By and large, most all of the other staff was prompt, polite, and very accommodating. As far as onsite restaurants / bars, I would give a thumbs up to Rico's, but a thumbs down to Hole in the Wall. All in all, not a bad place to stay. However, if they're going to keep their Hilton affiliation, they are probably going to need to do some updating in their guest rooms. I would stay here again.

Ok Place. Rooms outdated for sure. Casitas nice. Wifi service is awful. Great service from staff around the pools for food/beverage and it was easy to get chairs which I was surprised since resort was near peak capacity according to them. Our main issue with the resort was the endless number of gates we had to walk through to get from the casita to the main pool which was very close. Not so easy when you have little ones and a stroller, etc. What a PAIN that was. Nice area. Decent views.

My wife and 3 boys stayed at the Hilton Squaw Peak and really enjoyed it. The boys ages are 6, 4 and 10 months. We did the 1-bedroom Casida and it is the only way to go unless you do a 2 bedroom Casida or suite but a hotel room would not have been functional. The pool was great the kids club was really good!!! There are paces local to go a nd shop to put stuff in the fridge. We did the Phoenix zoo one day which was great. We were pool and naps then back to the pool in the afternoon. We were in bed every night by 7:30 from all day swimming and sun! The pool was the main entertainment but highly suggest the kids club at least once if staying 5-6 days. We only did the 4 hour block on two of the days but it was great enjoyed by all.

Room Tip: It depends on how big the family is but we loved the Casida. We would not have made it in a regular...

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to review our resort on TripAdvisor. Sounds like you had a fun-filled vacation! I'm happy to hear that your kids had good time in Coyote Camp. This option allows many parents to enjoy a little "quiet" time of their own. I'm also glad to know the casita provided you space and comfort for your family. Thank you for your business. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back.
Regards,
Teri Agosta

Service agents accommodating, efficient, and a pleasure personally. Catered event -- very good. At both the water park & Ricos patio, loud parties tended to overwhelm those desiring a quieter experience. Hole in the Wall pricey for passable to poor food quality.

Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort was a very nice place, away from downtown Phoenix, but probably not far enough out of the city for my liking. We stayed in one of the two-bedroom casitas, and if you can afford it, these are the nicest places on the hotel grounds--the main hotel, especially in spring, is just way too overcrowded. But the casitas--at least some of them, have their own little shared pool and a terrace.

Interior probably needs a little updating. But again, it's a family resort and thus, prone to a bit more wear and tear. It's also close to a highway, so you hear lots of traffic. Food at Rico's was great, and room service was also very accommodating. Bathrooms are a little small, my parents' TV in their room wasn't working, and despite having efficiency kitchens, they didn't have the usual amenities you would think, like dishes, coffee pot to make your own coffee (they do, however have the single cup coffee maker, but I asked for an old pot, and they brought it to me). Anyway, I would recommend this place for families with young kids, not couples or business travelers.

Room Tip: Splurge for a casita. You'll have more room and be away from the chaos of the main hotel.
