This place is perfectly located on the corner of the main large square, right in the centre of Prescott. No need to get the car out.

Arriving - there is a charming garden area with a fountain. The reception area is very large, beautifully decorated and appointed. Really classy and 'posh'. There are sofas for relaxing, reading. Straight away, there is a genuine 'Grand Hotel' feel - this is no ordinary hotel.

Reception staff - v. helpful, very professional.
The room - so beautifully presented with real quality furnishings and fittings (a decent shower at last!), leaving you feeling pampered!

What about breakfast?? Try this - A sumptuously decorated and furnished dining room (the restaurant), with waitress service, every kind of breakfast option imaginable.

Oh, by the way, this was $109 dollars, breakfast included.
I have paid triple this amount for places nowhere near as lovely as this place. Charming, personal and welcoming.

We had to move on in the morning, but we didn't want to! It was a shame to have used this place as an overnight stopover only.

What an amazing staff! This hotel truly embodies the spirit of Prescott - keeping the "historical", small town ambience that Prescott is known for! The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly! They really made the experience memorable. The Peacock room is a GREAT place to dine! Excellent service, ambience and FOOD!! (try the romance package with the dinner for two - YUM)

After recently staying for 5 days at the Hassayampa Inn and reading some unkind reviews, I wanted to let interest people know that I had a wonderful stay at that beautifully rennovated inn. There is no doubt the rooms are older, but the Inn clearly states that it dates back to early 1900's. When conteplating a stay, one should take that into consideration. The lobby is extremely tastefful, with a lovely inviting fireplace... I found the staff to be very approachable, helpful and available any time something was necessary or there was a question. Both restaurants were also very attractively decorated and the food was not only delicious, the proportions seemed quite gracious to me... especially compared to Atlanta. The hotel is convenitently located in the heart of the Old Prescott district, making it easy to walk around and enjoy the charm of the cozy buildings, shops and restaurants within walking distance.

There were at least 90 at the Hassayampa Inn from my group and to my knowledge there were no major complaints, nor was anyone disappointed with the duration of his/her stay there.

If you are debating whether or not to stay at this quaint and charming inn... please remember it is on the historical register and may have a few creeks in the wood flooring... but for me, that adds only adds to the uniqueness of a caring and professionally run establishment. Give it a try!

Stayed at Hassayampa Feb. 2-4, 2007 with my husband and two teens as part of a company retreat. The lobby was very nice with antique furniture and decor. You instantly felt like you'd traveled back in time. The location of the Hassayampa is excellent. Right in the middle of the historic downtown district. The Courthouse, Whiskey Row, etc are all within a few blocks.

A warning to folks who can't do stairs. This hotel has 4 floors and a VERY old elevator (1929). Only the hotel staff is allowed to operate the elevator but there is NOT a full-time elevator operator. So, the whole time we stayed, only once did we ride the elevator. The rest of the time, we walked up and down the stairs to the 4th floor. Not a problem for our family, but it would've been for older folks, or anyone with trouble walking.

We booked a double-queen suite. There were 2 queen beds in the main room, and then in the "parlor" there was a fold-out sofa. There was a dresser in the main room and a desk plus a small coffee table in the parlor. The furniture was older and a bit distressed, but that added to the historical feeling. The mattress on our bed was a little worn and seemed to sag toward the middle. But the other queen bed didn't seem to have this problem. Our son said that the sofa bed was comfortable. We found plenty of sheets, blankets, and extra pillows for the sofa available in the coat closet. Both rooms had TVs with lots of channels. There was one bathroom with doors from either room. We were glad there was a sink inside the bathroom and another sink in the main room. The extra sink was very nice in the mornings when all four of us were getting ready. The sink in the bathroom was nice at night to be able to wash hands without waking everyone up. Water pressure was great but the temperature fluctuated throughout my shower - and not just in the morning. It even happened during a late afternoon shower too! There was a wall-mount blow-dryer near the extra sink and plenty of plugs. Our room (#418) was on the top floor, at the end of the hall, on the corner of the building so not much noise from neighbors. But, we could hear a lot of street noise from Gurley Street. Also, right outside our windows was the red neon Hassayampa sign so all night long our room glowed red. I recommend asking for a room away from Gurley street. You might want to ask for Room #426 - its supposed to be haunted.

We REALLY enjoyed our breakfast at the Peacock restaurant downstairs. Great food, wonderful selection, fantastic service and reasonable prices! Others in our group raved about The Waffle Iron restaurant for breakfast too but we didn't go there. We had dinner at The Palace. I suggest going there even if it's just to look around. There's tons of great photos & memorabilia covering the walls. Since we had a big group we had a limited menu, but everything was VERY good.

Other activities in Prescott - We enjoyed hiking Thumb Butte, a day at Lynx Lake, and a night at the Casino.
