“Great Stay for the Price”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

The room was very nice for the price. We stayed here for two nights. The free internet worked great, the room was clean, and it was only 1 mile from the histrionic downtown area. The manager was always at the desk (day & night). If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel that offers a simple, clean room; then this is the place. I will stay here again the next time I am in town.

Stayed at this motel as a last resort for a senior softball tourney in Prescott. First, price was too high for the dump it is. Secondly, the parking was tight and too difficult for larger SUV's and trucks to get in and out of. Pool area all dug up. Place looked old and beat up. The rooms were exactly what you would expect for a place like this. If there is a positive to this place 1) it was next door to a Circle K and across the street from JB's restaurant with an inexpensive and nice breakfast buffet. 2) it was about 1-2 miles from Whiskey Row. May be worth it to others not me.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

Beware!!! The hotel manager will knowingly lie to your face!!!

My husband and I planned a weekend trip to Prescott to beat the heat. The a/c was broken. We were told no other rooms and no refund. Claimed because I booked through a service I had to contact that service for refund. When service called Kevin, with me on the line, he bold faced lied that I never made any complaints to him and the a/c works perfectly. I was astounded.

This hotel is a health hazard! The room was so gross and smelled horrible. I stayed long enough to get my money back & check right back out. I didn't even want to sit on the bed, the covers were dirty with cigarette holes. There were dying roaches in the corners of the vanity area. The carpet was so dirty, the dingy lighting is there for a purpose. The furniture is old, the light shade was slashed and there were patched up wall holes everywhere. As I was making plans to leave, I saw a huge thumb-size black bug wakk across the carpet! Then 2 more came out from the bathroom area! I literally ran out the door. As I left, I told the manager, I am wrting a letter to corporate & shame on them for even running this place.

Room Tip: Keep driving!

We were lucky to get a room in Prescott because it was the weekend of the Fourth of July. The ladies in the office were very nice and friendly and the room was clean. The cover on the bed was scratchy and rough. We had read the reviews and brought our own pillows with us. I was surprised to find that in the middle of summer that the pool was piled high with dirt that maybe they got from the remodel up front. The hot tub was removed and just sitting on the side. It was an Econo Lodge so my expectations were pretty low and I was surprised they charged so much considering the condition of the pool in the middle of the summer. Thankfully there were no bugs, but I certainly expected them!

Two good points: 1. the wifi works, 2. the manager/clerk is friendly. After booking this online as a 2.5 Star through a well-known website for $70. bucks, reality was appalling. "Renovation" seems to be ongoing forever, judging from the bricks thrown in the pool and construction materials strewn around; and the caliber of work in the rooms is grim. Slapping paint on and carpet that doesn't meet the walls seems to be about it, except for the granite bathroom counter. (Lipstick on the pig.) No clock, no hairdryer and no coffee machine--none of the basics even the most low end of 29.95 truck stop motels provide. Burn holes in the blanket and old stained towels. Nasty stuff in the tub drain. We only ask for clean and safe rooms, felt like it was neither. Scary types were hanging around outside rooms smoking, looked like permanent residents (paying with blood plasma rather than a credit card?), it was a half-star at most. "Breakfast" was put out too late (7am--really?) as we had to be at a conference, but judging by the other comments, we didn't miss anything. Had this not been booked as a blind reservation would never had stayed here and certainly won't again. Prescott is in dire need of rooms, but we'd sleep in the car before staying here again. Be warned.

Room Tip: I don't think it is possible to get a 'good' room. The 'renovated' one we had w...

The hotel is in the midst of a much needed renovation. They are currently working on the exterior of the property. This motel had both good and bad qualities. The good qualities: friendly and courteous staff, size of the room and general layout, close to downtown, Yavapai College and some good restaurants such as JB's. The room was very clean, price is reasonable and good number of outlets in the room. I like the smell of the shampoo.
There were a few negative qualities. The rooms are painted in darker colors and the lighting is low. The bottom of the doors can allow insects such as water bugs to enter the room. Turning on the shower is a little tricky because the valve is located on the bottom instead of the top of the faucet. It is in an older neighborhood and there were a couple of hotels nearby that were quite run down. The pillows were a little flat.
