I was staying at the Wyndham for a conference, so I had dinner with family here one night. Our waiter was very friendly & knew his products. We were seated on the patio, which was very nice - great weather & views. That was probably the nicest part of the meal. The peel & eat shrimp appetizer was rubbery - on two separate plates. The dinner special was a great deal & the food was adequate. The steak was rather fatty, and don't bother ordering the risotto - stick with a baked potato! The risotto was like wallpaper paste - no flavor at all. A request for a plain baked sweet potato, no butter, was not honored - it came out buttered. I would stick with drinks & tried & true appetizers, or soup. The clam chowder was Manhattan style & it was loaded with veggies.

I'll try and be short; if you eat here you will regret it.

After a forty five minute wait (around one o'clock) our two sandwiches were brought out.
The bread on my wife's club sandwich was so dry & hard that it crumbled like dust when squeezed. This bread was so hard it's hard to imagine how they were able to cut it. You have to wonder, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???? There were no regular fries ????? so they substituted curly fries and they were cold.

Ours was not an isolated experience, the elderly couple sitting next to us must have ordered shrimp tacos (to split). Their plate came out with two tacos and a small bowl of white rice. No cheese, no lettuce, no salsa, nothing else. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???? Unbelievable.

If this restaurant wasn't in the Prescott Wyndham Hotel it would have failed long ago.
Obviously the General Manager either has never eaten at the Black Canyon Grille or he just doesn't care.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Eat here and you won't soon forget it and not for any good reasons.

Black Canyon Grill has an excellent food and bar selection. The staff in the bar always provides exceptional customer service whether you are drinking, eating, or both.
We just happened to stop in for my husband's birthday and were thrilled with our dining experience and have continued coming back!

In one word the restaurant is "terrible" out 5 entrees 4 had to be sent back and then refused on the next go round, prime rib (nice cut) was sooo overcooked, the fish was overcooked and when one of us waited for his dish to come the waiter walks up and tells him they are out of his requested dish, this after 5 of us had already received their meals. His dish arrives at the table without touching it, the smell of rotten seafood filled the area of the table! I asked to see a small piece of the meal and touched it, was raw inside and stank! I don't know what happened to this place the chef when they opened was one of the best around but he has left and if you go there have a salad. they should change the name to "roadkill cafe".
