“Can be hit and miss..depending”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

Went the first time when the owner was there and the food was really good. Went back a few days later and the owner was missing and food was poor. NEED TO TAKE YOUR OWN BEER!

“Good meal- great price”
Reviewed 8 April 2013 via mobile

Stayed in Prescott for 2 nights at the motor lodge. It was conveniently located across the street. We ate here one night. The place is small with very modest decor. Food was good and at a great price. No liquor license, but were able to bring in our own beers. No cork fee. Both husband and I ate for 16.00- verde enchiladas are very good :)

“Better than Average but not 5 Star”
Reviewed 1 March 2013

This was a nice little Mexican Restaurant that I would return to again but I have also had better so I only gave it a 4. Great prices and large portions so the Value would be a 5.

“Decent, but not exceptional.”
Reviewed 1 March 2013

We ate here for dinner at the suggestion of our hotel clerk. It was good, but not somewhere I would go again. I had the chili relleno which was okay and the "freshly made" guacamole was not really as fresh as it sounded. It was delivered immediately so I know it wasn't made fresh for me as I had expected. It seemed to have lemon juice in it to keep it "fresh."

They do not give you chips for free unless you order a combo meal. You get your chips after you order. That is not common practice at Mexican restaurants and I didn't like the idea. While the food was fine, it was not exceptional and the other things mentioned above make me drop an extra star.

“BEST CARNITAS; LOCAL ART”
Reviewed 12 September 2012

This place is off the beaten path just a bit. About 1/2 mile or so south on Montezuma from historic Whiskey Row but well worth the short drive. This is a small "hole in the wall" place owned and run by Rosa; her husband is the cook. They have the best pork carnitas of any place around. And, this place is "cabaret style"; that is bring your own beer, wine, booze, etc; no charge; and they give you a glass and opener. If you need a mixer you pay for that. Chips are free; the place is a bit funky and small but it is awesome. The art on the walls is NOT for sale and has, for the most part, been donated by local artists; who knows what it is worth and who cares? This is a "flash back" place. SUGGESTION-- Tip well so they can stay in business; they don't charge enough. Oh,,, one last thing. The #2 or 3 rated hotel in the USA, the Motor Lodge, is right across the street. Stay here; eat here. You kidding me? This is great! Notice: If you want to eat in a chain restaurant, go! If what you want is a piece of Americana, go here! You will not regret it.
