“Wonderful Morning up close with animals”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We recently visited Heritage Park with our 1 1/2 year old son and he had a blast being able to walk around the zoo. This zoo is a much better alternative to the overpriced and crowded for profit zoos. The animals here are rescued or wounded for the most part and the size is just right. The $8 admission will get you much closer to the actual animals and you can easily tour the whole park in an hour or two. The attendant told us we could leave for lunch and come back later that same day too. Live feedings at multiple times during the day and a huge play area for children.

“Loved this zoo”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 via mobile

It's smaller than other zoos but the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. My kids loved watching the bar get fed I would really recommend this zoo to anyone with kids

“Nice little place”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

Firstly the admission fee is far more reasonable here than larger zoos, so you can afford to take the whole family. When we went it was a very hot day so unfortunately most of the animals were asleep or hiding inside. I was getting a bit disappointed at not seeing any of the big cats, when we bumped into a female member of staff. She very kindly took us over to the mountain lion and coaxed her out for us to see, whilst explaining how she ended up there. She was a beautiful animal and that brightened up the trip for us. Would suggest going on a cooler day or when the animals are more likely to be out though :)

“Loved it”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

I am not a fan of zoos. The idea of locking up animals for us to stare at is just wrong IMO. This place is different! All of the animals have been rescued, injured or abandoned. I enjoyed every minute of it. I wish some of the big cats had been out, but that is what cats do in the day - sleep. Go here, or just donate to the cause. I think the fee was $8 per person.

“Nice little zoo”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Nice little zoo. Nice to see mainly native AZ animals and liked the rescue story on each. Since it is small we only spent about an hour there, so happy only paid $10 for 3 people with an internet deal.
