“It is paradise!”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

It was a real pleasure to spend two days at this beautiful bed and breakfast. We wish we had stayed longer! First of all, the location is amazing, right at the edge of the Prescott National Forest, surrounded by only pines and wild life! The house is a gorgeous A frame, with huge windows and it has the most incredible views of the surrounding forest and the city of Prescott. From the moment we arrived we received nothing but great hospitality. The house was cozy, beautiful, inviting and spotless! We were immediately treated like family. Both Gayle and Tim are lovely people, and showered us with thoughtful details including the scrumptious hand-made chocolates, they made sure we were super comfortable, and we were having a good time. We really enjoyed our stay, we relaxed, rested, and had a great time... and can't wait to go back. We highly recommend it, you will not retreat it!

Room Tip: We stayed at the Prescott room, very comfy, with a king size bed, large full bathroom, and the best...

Stayed Oct 27-31 in the SW room; clean & comfy. Took advantage of the second floor loft for the sunrise views and the fireplace area for decompression from the day's activities; relaxing. A pack of Javelinas wandered by during b-fast; not something you will get in town. Hosts make you feel special; treats, b-fast and service are first-class. You will not leave disappointed.

We loved the Whispering Pines website and it was exactly as it was portrayed and hoped it would be. The entire home was beautiful and our room very comfortable with the plate of handmade chocolates at check-in. We walked the trails around the property and sat in rockers at the edge of the hilll and were amazed at the wonderful view across the valley. When we asked Tim, he replied in his charming British accent and told us that as we looked across the valley and we were were seeing the mountains to the North by Flagstaff. That happened to be a 70-mile view. Wow. Tim and Gayle prepared a delicious and hearty breakfast. We only wish we could have stayed more than one night. We will surely return some day and recommend that you do too.

Room Tip: They all looked inviting, but we preferred to have our own private bath and it was available.

We stayed at Whispering Pines B&B for two days on Sept. 10-12 and found it to be a most restful getaway. The view of Prescott from the top of the mountain was awesome and the peace and quiet was extremely therapeutic. Watching a myriad of hummingbirds enjoy the many feeders on the deck and a host of other birds wander around the property was hypnotic. Tim and Gayle were the consummate host and hostess and welcomed us as if we were long lost friends. From the homemade chocolates we found in our room to the treats strategically placed around the home and of course the gourmet breakfasts our taste buds had a chance to enjoy the vacation as much as we did. We stayed in the Prescott Room which gave us direct access to the deck and the trails around the property. The large windows in the room allowed us to enjoy the awesome views without even leaving the room. It is also strategically located and only 10 minutes from downtown Prescott. The only thing we could have asked more of was more time to stay and enjoy the solitude.

We stayed at Whispering Pines B&B in early August while attending annual Cowboy Poetry event in Prescott, AZ. It's only 10 minutes from downtown Prescott. The upscale property has a million dollar view from 6,300 feet and is a nature lover and birders paradise.

Owners Gayle and Tim Graham warmly welcomed us. Gayle gave us a bowl of homemade chocolate treats while Tim helped with luggage. Exceptionally thoughtful hosts, they provide a guest refrigerator and microwave at the back entrance.

A full wrap-around deck sports seating areas for bird watching, reading or relaxing. Potted flowers, bird feeders and tasteful Southwest outdoor decor provide a peaceful ambiance. We hiked some of the walking trails on the 3.5-acre property.

High knotty pine ceilings with open beams and huge dramatic windows let nature in. The large upstairs lounge area has books, magazines and tourist literature. A leather sofa, large TV and multiple seating areas encourage games, reading or computing. We used their binoculars to watch the humming bird feeder just a few feet away. My spouse counted 11 birds on the same feeder. The complimentary WiFi worked fine my laptop computer and iPad.

After sundown,we watched the distant twinkling lights of Prescott and Prescott Valley. We heard no street noises. Coyote howls and yips reminded us were were in the high desert.

In the early morning, a glorious sunrise painted the sky. Gayle rose early to prepare coffee, followed by a sumptuous breakfast with assorted fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins, yogurt, cereal, plus beautifully presented hot entrees. The memorable breakfasts reminded me of cruise ship vacations. This slice of paradise is good for the soul!

Only caveat: Tree Tops Trail looks like a steep dirt road, but it's only 300 yards long and leads to the concrete upper driveway and parking area. Definitely worth the short climb!

Room Tip: 3 rooms upstairs, 1 downstairs all have fantastic views and stunning Southwest decor.

It's not fair to wish something this good would stay a secret but that's how I feel about Whispering Pines. My husband and I stayed here to get out of the heat of Phoenix. We couldn't believe the beautiful wide sweeping views and the peacefulness we felt while sitting out on the deck. The cool breeze was refreshing. We explored the small trails which uncovered their own surprises. We stayed in the Southwest Room which was very comfy and we were treated with yummy homemade chocolates!
Breakfast was also wonderful and Gayle and Tim were the perfect hosts , we feel as if we made two new friends! Thanks! We will be back!

We thought Whispering Pines would be very nice, however had no idea of the beautiful view and ambiance. We visited this property for three nights in mid July and everything exceeded our expectations. When it is clear, you can see the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff from the deck, the loft, the living room and the Prescott Room. It is located at 6100 feet and has an ever-changing view of the surrounding mountains and landscape based on the time of day and the clouds. It is the best view we have seen other than a view with water. It has a wrap-around deck with several different areas to sit and enjoying sipping a beverage or eating a snack. They have many humming and other birds for your entertainment on the deck and the surrounding property.
Tim and Gayle were a delight to be around, great sense of humor and very genuine. We felt like they were old friends who welcomed us to their home. We enjoyed many conversations about many different interesting topics. They paid close attention to your needs and requests. They fix a wonderful breakfast each morning with a main course, fresh fruit and cereal if you like. They provide you with wonderful home-made chocolates for a snack during your stay.
They have three short trails with great views and trinkets. They also have a Pentaque court which was great fun to play for us as a couple or would be great for several couples or a family. Their property is very close to the Prescott National Forest so there are many other trails to hike. They provided us with great suggestions for dinner and made our reservations. It is only about an 8 to 10 minute ride to downtown.
We stayed in the Prescott Room which is very comfortable, has a great view and its own private entrance. The living room and loft area provide two TV's and several areas to play games, read or just relax. The decorations change with the seasons and create a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
We had a wonderful time and got a break from the hot weather in Phoenix. We only wished we could have stayed longer. We do plan to return and hope it is in the near future. This is definitely one of the best Bed and Breakfast Properties that we have ever stayed in. We also enjoyed playing the golf courses in the area. This makes a great escape from the Phoenix area or a great place to stay to tour Northern Arizona.

Room Tip: The Prescott room has its own entrance, big bathroom, two sitting chairs and a great view.
