We stayed at the Grand Highland in March 2014 and were delighted by it. We were able to park our car in the large free city parking lot just behind the hotel, and although there are 22 or so stairs that lead up to the hotel from both front and back, it was worth the climb. (We were told we could have help with our bags, but we managed fine on our own.) As other reviewers have noted, the rooms are small but tastefully decorated, and the family that owns and operates the hotel has made every effort to please their guests. The breakfast was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the location is terrific. The hotel is across the street from the historic court house and in the midst of interesting shops, art galleries, and bars and restaurants, but our room was quiet and we slept well. We enjoyed exploring the area and found the Grand Highland a great change from the big chain hotels.

Thank you for your wonderful words! We are elated with your comments. To help understand our room size: our hotel was built in 1903 and still has the same architecture and size. The building is 25 feet wide and 150 feet long with rooms on either side of a long, narrow hallway. We do offer a suite with a parlor and our two king deluxe offer more space with bay windows overlooking the Courthouse Square. Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your experience. Come see us again!

We had an excellent stay at this boutique hotel for a weekend getaway. Amazing & super accommodating staff and beautiful rooms. We got to peek into quite a few of them. It's right on whiskey row but we're not drinker/party-ers so we appreciated all the shops and boutiques and cafés surrounding us instead. The historic district is adorable and you can walk (quickly) to anything you might want from this hotel. We stayed in the holiday room and it was cute and cosy. We really enjoyed our stay, and appreciated the keurig coffee in the lobby at all hours. There seemed to be a few extra perks they don't advertise- coffee, bottled water, continental breakfast are all free... We will be back again and we'd highly recommend others try it. (One warning/tip, it does clarify this hotel is in the second story, so be prepared to carry luggage up flights of stairs.... No elevator)

We visited the Grand Highland in Feb. 2014, and we stayed in the Rodeo Room. The rooms are small but functional, with a nice bathroom and beautiful and fun decor. Very thoughtfully done, which I understand happened after the fire next door that took out the original Birdcage.

Nancy and her family make you feel right at home. They were very kind, and interested in each guest. They even have earplugs for you, and you should plan to use them as it does get a little noisy on Whiskey Row but no worries with the earplugs in.

You'll be so glad that you visited the Grand Highland rather than another anonymous corporate hotel. It will make your Prescott memories even more special!

Room Tip: If you're sensitive to noise, ask for one of the rooms in the back - but it may still be noisy from the dumpsters being filled and dumped. USE the earplugs!

Be sure to check out the rooms before reserving; each one has a distinctly different character- Quirky and fun - great claw foot tubs. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and there were nice touches like cookies in the afternoon and fresh fruit in the morning. The walls are thin so you may need to use the earplugs that are provided... we didn't have an issue with noise, even though it was spring break and the hotel is right in the middle of Whiskey Row. The location is convenient for walking and exploring- overall a great experience and we would definitely go back-

We had not been to Prescott in many years and felt a hotel on the old Whiskey Row would be fun. It was! Not only was the location convenient to just about everything shop wise, it was very clean and the fixtures were eco-friendly and the furnishings were in keeping with the old tyme theme of the building and area. The price seemed a bit high but we will return here when we get back to Prescott again.

Room Tip: Rooms on east side overlook the famous square and whiskey row.
