The owners were some of the most helpful and thoughtful people you could ever come in contact with. Extra pillows or blankets no problem, late check-out a nominal charge. They even fixed my shoe one time I stayed there!!!!! The Apache Lodge is a cozy, quaint little palce. No big thrills, just big value for the price. If you like 1930's -40's motor inn lodges this is it.

This property has just changed hands. It was good before and the new owners seem just as good. Like most of the reviews say, this is not a luxury property.
On the MINUS side - The rooms are small. The bathroom is tiny-tiny-tiny. The TV is about 14". The beds, linens, and pillows have seen better days. No in room coffee.
On the PLUS side - The rooms are very clean. All the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help. Good, free perc'd coffee in the office was always available. Finally, the price is a bargain. Prescott can be a pricy town, but my room was $35.00 weekdays and $45.00 weekends. Comparable properties were $20.00 more a night and prime ones were $110.00 and up this past weekend.
A romantic weekend place? No. A good, solid deal for businessmen or - in my case - fishermen....you betcha!

This place is great! I have stayed there 4 times and always sleep like a baby. I don’t know what they do, but they do it. Very chill and family like atmosphere. There's often a dog roaming around the grounds, once he hung out in our room for a while.

If you are looking for a luxury place -- go powder your nose elsewhere; the Apache is clean, compact and rough around the edges --perfect for the traveling enthusiast who appreciates the finer things in life.

Our expectations were very much in line with what we might find at a 70 year old motel, and it did not disappoint. Just fine. Clean enough,
but not the ritz. An awesome trapezoidal bathroom. Tiny 1940's sink.
Great stuff. The art work on the wall was a framed jigsaw puzzle. We love it.

The price was right, too. Plus the person that checked us in was intelligible and courteous. Very nice. Family run. We'd stay again.

I thought the property was well kept and clean considering how old it is. A lot of people whispered or rumored, my experience was fine. The owners were very nice and attended to my every need, within reason, quiet sleep, no problems, pricing was best deal ever heard.

We stayed only 1 night but could easily be comfortable for a longer stay. We have a pitbull that doesn't like other animals so it is always difficult to find a pet friendly motel that has easy access back and forth to the car but this motel was wonderful. They put us in unit 18 I think, in the back of the property and it was very quiet, also extremely easy for loading and walking our dog. The room was very large and the beds were okay. Not the best I've ever slept on in a motel but certainly not bad either. The room only had a swamp cooler, not actual A/C but for the time of year we visited it was sufficient. Coffee maker in the room and the employees were friendly. I think it was the owner's son who checked us in. Very polite and helpful when asking directions or other questions about the area.

  • Liked — layout of the property
  • Disliked — no air conditioner in our room, just a swamp cooler
