“Overpriced motel”
Reviewed 11 April 2010

We won't be going back. The service was bad, rooms are very small and the cars parked in front of the room give it a feel of "motel in the desert"...

Our family of five stayed at the FS Scottsdale from April 2-8, 2010, and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. From the concierge, Mike K, who personally handled our pre-arrival reservations to the excellent food, the superbly organized Kids for All Seasons program, well-appointed pool and friendly pool staff and detail-oriented housekeeping, this was probably the best run FS we've stayed at.

This property perfectly exemplified a well-run, service-oriented team. From talking with returning guests, they have low turnover within the staff which says a lot about the team. The Easter Brunch was our favorite meal at any Four Seasons and my children, ages 10 & 8 loved it as well. The baby was well-cared for at the restaurants and had fun at the pool. Food service was unbelievably fast at the pool (despite the hotel being almost 95% full) and the regular treats at the pool actually happened on a regular basis!

This property epitomized Four Seasons quality and service. We would not hesitate to return or recommend it to others.

If you are visiting Scottsdale, then I would highly recommend this hotel. I would probably give it 4.5 stars rather than 5 (simply because I have stayed in better hotels), but this is not a Tripadvisor option and this hotel is better than very good.

The service is excellent. For instance, on arrival (3 hours early) the bellman knew my full name when I mentioned my family name. Although this in itself is not important, it is this level of focus on detail on the customer experience that makes the Four Seasons such a pleasure to stay in. The standard of service was high at all times and is what Four Seasons regulars will be used to experiencing.

The pool has been refurbished within the last month. Actually, there are 3 pools - a large pool, a smaller pool, and an adults only pool. There is also a hot tub. Again very good service - the poolman will set your chair up, bring water, free mini ice creams and fruit every hour and deal with any food requests as you would expect.

We ate in all three restaurants and had in-room dining. The food in Talavera is outstanding. The scallops from Maine were the largest I have ever seen, and my steak was superb. Crescent Moon was fine (although dining here does not feel particularly special), and the food in the pool bar was also very good. The in-room dining portions were massive - I think our side of chips was enough for 4 persons!

The rooms have their own rustic charm, though I have stayed in Four Seasons with slicker rooms. This is why this is only a 4.5* resort for me simply because the rooms could be nicer. However, the rooms are more than fine and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. So many saguaro and other types of cacti. Each block has self-service laundry facilities which is helpful, although there is of course still a laundry service if you wish.

On check out the bill we were presented with included an internet charge (even though we had not used the web). When I raised this, the Four Seasons sorted this out without any fuss, but I would say check your bill carefully as I have no idea why they thought we had used the web.

But in summary if you want to eat well, enjoy good service, chill by nice pools and have a good location to explore Scottsdale, then this resort is very recommended.

A wonderful hotel in the desert for a quick weekend getaway. We were here over Labor Day weekend and it was not crowded at all. Very peaceful and relaxing. Great spa and delicious food. The location was fantastic and we did not mind driving into downtown Scottsdale (about 20 mins) for a change of scenery and a choice of various restaurants. Room was comfortable.

This is my second stay at the this hotel over the past 3 years with December 2009 being the most recent. For the most part my comments reflect my experience for each of the stays with the December stay slightly better than the previous (not by much as both times were terrific). Staff are exceptional, the concierge and restaurant staff remembered our names each time we saw them. Rooms are in the Southwest style and have everything you could ask for, the grounds are well kept, the only issue on this trip was the that pool was closed for renovations, not a huge problem as the weather was a bit chilly however we had access to the private condo pool and its facilities. The cuisine in all of the outlets - breakfast, lobby bar and the restaurant were excellent, service was professional yet friendly and genuine. Although we did not have any spa treatments we did use the facilities and the gentleman working there was so attentive I almost felt bad, pretty amazing service with numerous chilled towels, iced water just really on top of things. I really like this resort and hope to be back for a fourth time.

Great choice for a luxury stay in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area. It is out of the heavily populated areas, with desert and mountain views, but close to shopping and nice restaurants in Scottsdale (try Eddie V's for seafood). For hikers ,you can catch a trail at the hotel, leading to a nearby mountain trail. We also caught a balloon ride and took a plane to the Grand Canyon. The hotel will arrange for you to be picked up at the hotel for excursions and their recommendations were spot on . We have stayed at other Four Seasons and been unimpressed with the friendliness of the staff in some places. This Four Seasons had the warmest, most attentive staff of anywhere we have stayed. They went out of their way to be helpful from booking through departure. We'll come back if we get the chance.

Stayed here for the last for days of our two week trip to the US, and certainly believe we saved the best till last....

We had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived to the moment we left and would recommend this hotel to anyway looking for luxury, golf, fine dining options and lots of opportunity to laze around - oh and there's a great spa too.

The staff, without exception, could not do enough for us. The decor throughout was high quality and beautifully kept.

Very much hope to have the opportunity to return at some point in the future.....
