Gainey Suites Hotel
Ranked #6 of 75 Hotels in Scottsdale
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 13 March 2011

The Gainey Suites is a great hotel and a great value. You should stay here if you can. Here are 5 reasons why:
1. The staff is great. From the general manager, to the office and desk staff, to the kitchen and catering staff, to the housekeeping and maintenance staff these folks have been there a long time, they are good at what they do, and they are happy. They go out of their way to accommodate guests and make them happy too.
2. The facility is great. The suites are clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The public areas inside and out are well laid out and make eating, talking, or just sitting quietly by the pool an inviting prospect.
3. The hotel is in a great location. It is easy to get to the many attractions in the area. And, if you are not going too far you can hop in the hotel van and be taken to your destination and picked up when you are done.
4. The mix of guests creates a great atmosphere. There are people who have been coming back to the Gainey Suites for years and who stay for months at a time and business travelers and vacationers in for a few days or a few weeks. You can always strike up a conversation with someone interesting.
5. The breakfast and evening buffets are varied and very good. We stayed for two months because we were remodeling our home prior to selling it. Although we could have easily eaten out at any number of restaurants close by, most often we stayed at “home” at the Gainey and enjoyed the food and conversation.
Now that we have sold our home in Scottsdale our plan is to return to the Gainey Suites each year for a month or so. We feel as if it is our new home in Scottsdale. Maybe we’ll see you there next year.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks here in February. All the staff and especially the manager were extremely accomodating in every aspect. The hotel itself is very comfortable and my wife loved the bed, she said it was the most comfortable she has slept in. The price to stay is probably not cheap to most travellers, but the reception, warmth of the staff, and the free breakfast and happy hour help make up for it. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a leisure, high comfort stay.

Was in the area on business and couldn't get into the Hyatt, b/c it was booked. Thought I may be taking a back seat to having to make a reservation nearby at the Gainey Suites. Was mistaken, very nice spacious room with an unbelieably comfortable bed, sheets and amazing pillows. Slept like a rock!

this is the third time we have stayed in a number one rated trip advisor hotel and by far this one was a disappointment.. the location is good and the price for the Scottsdale area is what earned this high rating I suppose.. other than that the hotel is somewhat shabby...it is a courtyard hotel with a small but attractive inner courtyard pool area surrounded by parking lots on all sides..it is tucked in behind a shopping center.. the hallway carpets are dirty and the beds very soft ..the air conditioner in the room makes noise at night.. while we were there we saw a cadre of older guests who may have been there for an extended stay... they complained about to other guests about their behavior and then to the hotel .. and "saved" chairs for their friends in the limited pool area .. all in all this stay was far from #1 one in my book I would not stay here again..

Perfect location for our golf trip. Sraff was really nice. The rooms are fine but the full-size refrigerator quite noisy-an issue for me...a very light sleeper. On the plus side-the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast and social hour selection was very nice and the interior grounds/pool are quite lovely.

Great location and would definitely stay again! Needed an extra rollaway and was no extra charge. Didn't make it to breakfast but the lounge looked beautiful. Stayed in a one bedroom suite and bed was comfy. Place was clean and quiet.

From the friendly front desk check-in to the spacious comfortable rooms, it is a great place to stay. The breakfast is delicious, and the happy hour with the food certainly can be a meal. I loved being able to sit inside or outside depending on the weather. The lobby area with the computer (for printing boarding passes) is a great convenience. The hotel's location makes it so easy to get to all the shopping, restaurants , aiport and other attractions. Looking forward to coming back next year.
