Hotel is in a good location midway between central Scottsdale (Scottsdale Rd/Camelback) and North Scottsdale (Greenway/Scottsdale Rd). This is clearly an older Hampton Inn in an area with older buildings. The breakfast/sitting area is very small in proportion to the size of the hotel and compared with newer Hampton Inns. Breakfast was very crowded and the tables were jammed in the area. The front desk was right in the middle of it all, and again, in newer Hamptons, it's separated. Fitness center was nothing to write home about, and compared with say an ALoft of the SPG brand, not nearly as good. Room furniture, while in good condition, requires some freshening up. Linens were the new white duvet style which I rated as a plus. Hallways narrow with 8-foot ceilings again, date the hotel. One good thing of note. Staff at this hotel, as I've experienced with EVERY Hampton Inn I've stayed in, goes out of their way to be helpful and to make it an enjoyable experience for the guests. This starts with the front desk check in, to breakfast and to check-out. Price was high because it's high season in Scottsdale. My company has a cap of $200/night, so there wasn't much choice. Off season, I generally stay elsewhere.
